Making Melon pan 〜メロンパン作り〜

Kona: "I prefer French baguette."

コナ：「ぼく、フレンチバゲットの方が好きなんだけど。」

Mommy: "I know. But this is something to give away to the Japanese community. I'm making Melon pan (Japanese cookie dough bread) today."

ママ：「知ってる。でもこれは、日本人コミュニティに持っていくものだからね。今日はメロンパンを作るわね。」

Kahlua: "Oh, is that cooking book the one you bought in Japan?"

カルア：「あ、そのお料理の本、日本で買ってきた本？」

Mommy: "That's right. A long time ago. I like the cooking book from Japan."

ママ：「うん。だいぶ前にね。日本のお料理の本っていいわよね〜」

Mommy: "All the processes are written with the photos."

ママ：「すべての工程が、写真付きで書かれているんだもの。」

Mommy: "Now, let's begin. First, mixing the organic butter and the organic sugar..."

ママ：「さあ、始めよう。まずは、オーガニックのバターとオーガニックのお砂糖を混ぜて‥‥」

Kona: "Does Melon pan take a long time to make?"

コナ：「メロンパンって、作るのに時間かかる？」

Mommy: "Let's see. Melon pan has two layers. The inside is the soft bread dough, and the outside is the sweet cookie dough. After they got together, we need to wait for them to rise."

ママ：「そうね。メロンパンは、二層あるのよ。中は柔らかいパンの生地で、外は甘いクッキーの生地でね。二つが一緒になってから、膨らむのを待たなきゃいけないのよね。」

Kona: "Then, I guess I have time to clean you, Ehime."

コナ：「じゃあ、ひめたんをきれいにしてあげる時間があるね。」

Ehime: "Thank you♪"

えひめ：「ありがと♪」

Kahlua: "Then, I will help you."

カルア：「じゃあ、ぼくはママのお手伝いを。」

Mommy: "What help?"

ママ：「どのお手伝い？」

Mommy: "Well, you might be bored. Why don't you chew the bone that you received from Santa Claus?"

ママ：「まあ、退屈なのかもね。サンタクロースからもらったのでカミカミするのはどう？」

Kahlua: "That's a good idea."

カルア：「それは、いいアイディアだ。」

Ehime: "Mommy, my bone is too big to chew. Can you hold it?"

えひめ：「ママ〜、わたちのこれ、大きしゅぎてカミカミできない。持ってくれましぇんか？」

Mommy: "What? Now?"

ママ：「えっ？今？」

Mommy: "I'm busy for making two layers now. Can I finish this process first and help you hold the bone after?"

ママ：「今二層を作るのに忙しいのよ。この工程を先に終わらせてもいい？後でカミカミを持つのを手伝うから。」

Ehime: "OK. That dough smells good♪"

えひめ：「いいでしゅよ。しょの生地、おいちそうなにおいがしゅる。」

Kona: "I have no problem chewing this bone. I can keep myself busy."

コナ：「ぼくはカミカミするのに、全く問題なし。忙しい、忙しい。」

Mommy: "Melon pan is out from the oven♪"

ママ：「メロンパンがオーブンから出た♪」

Daddy: "Good! Let's have Melon pan with a cup of coffee for snack♪"

パパ：「やった！さあ、おやつはコーヒーとメロンパンにしよう♪」

Mommy: "You were waiting for this to get done, weren't you?"

ママ：「パパ、メロンパンが出来上がるのを待ってたのね。」
