Gift war 〜ギフトウォー〜

Mommy: "Since we were gifted with some fresh vegetables from our neighbor friends, So, I baked zucchini bread using a big zucchini from that package, and gave one loaf to those neighbor friends as a gift from us."

ママ：「ご近所のお友だちから、新鮮なお野菜を頂いたの。それで、その中にあった大きなズッキーニを使ってズッキーニブレッドを焼いて、そのご近所のお友だちへの贈り物にしたの。」

Mommy: "Then, we were gifted with more fresh veggies grown at their garden."

ママ：「そしたら、その方たちの畑で育った新鮮なお野菜をもっと贈り物に頂いちゃって。」

Makana: "Daddy said it's called 'a gift war'."

マカナ：「パパがそういうの、”ギフトウォー”って呼ぶんだって言ってたよ。」

Mommy: "Haha. A gift war in a country version, huh?"

ママ：「あはは。田舎バージョンのギフトウォー、ね。」

Everyone needs to rest from time to time. 〜みんな時には、休むことが必要〜

Makana: "Did we adopt a cat?"

マカナ：「うち、ネコを飼い始めたの？」

Mommy: "A cat? No. Daddy is allergic to cats. Why do you ask?"

ママ：「ネコ？　ううん。パパ、ネコアレルギーだもの。なんで？」

Makana: "Look at the frontdoor. There is a cat in a little space where you put up the shelf to set a scarecrow to prevent wild birds to make a nest."

マカナ：「玄関を見て。野鳥の巣作り防止用にカカシを置くために、ママがセッティングした棚のスペースに、ネコがいるよ。」

Mommy: "Oh! I guess everyone needs to rest from time to time. Let's let her stay there."

ママ：「あら！　みんな時には、休むことが必要だものね。そのままにしておきましょ。」

Mommy: "Oh, wow. These little baby birds at our backyard are growing well. Their parents are doing a great job feeding them."

ママ：「わあ、すごい。うちの裏庭にいる小さな赤ちゃんの小鳥たち、すくすく育ってるね〜　親鳥たち、餌やりにがんばってるのね。」

Makana: "Sachi, as a four years old Golden Retriever is still growing."

マカナ：「4歳のゴールデンレトリバーのさっちゃんは、いまだに育ってるよ。」

Mommy: "Sachi... doesn't need to grow bigger anymore."

ママ：「さっちゃんは‥‥ もうこれ以上、大きく育たなくてもいいんだけどね。」

Mommy: "I'm glad you like it. But I appreciate if you don't headbutt the bucket."

ママ：「気に入ってくれて、うれしいわ。でも、バケツの頭突きをしないでくれると、ありがたいんだけど。」

Sachi: "Um... I can't go out from here to see my mommy."

さち：「あの‥‥ ママに会いに行きたいのに、ここから出られない。」

Mommy: "Because the gate is closed. You might go run to the highway if you go out from there."

ママ：「だって、ゲートが閉まってるから。さっちゃんはそこから出ちゃうと、ハイウェイまで走っていっちゃうかもしれないしね。」

Sachi: "?"

さち：「？」

Sachi: What is this smell on you?"

さち：「ママについてるこの匂い、なんでしゅか？」

Makana: "Oh, you are right. Is this fish?"

マカナ：「あ、ホントだ。これ、魚かな？」

Mommy: "What?"

ママ：「え？」

Mommy: "Oh! I ate Ahi tataki for dinner. Great skill of searing, and it was delicious with housemade ponzu."

ママ：「ああ！　晩ごはんに、アヒまぐろのたたきを食べたから。焼き加減のスキルが上手で、自家製ポン酢と一緒に頂いたらおいしかったわ〜」

Sachi: "Where is ours?"

さち：「わたちたちのは？」

Mommy: "An adorable puppy visited our tasting room yesterday. He was so quiet, and peacefully sleeping during his human mommy & daddy are enjoying food and wine."

ママ：「昨日、愛らしいパピーが、うちのテイスティングルームを訪れてくれたの。パパさんとママさんが食べ物とワインをエンジョイしている間、とっても静かにすやすやと眠ってたのよ。」

Makana: "I can be quiet and peacefully sleeping."

Mommy: "Yes.... I have a suggestion. What about sleeping on your bed instead of sleeping in the middle of the hallway?"

ママ：「うん‥‥ 提案があるんだけど、マーくんのベッドで寝るのはどうかな？　廊下のど真ん中じゃなくって。」

Watermelon poke 〜スイカポケ〜

 

Mommy: "We started watermelon poke as a summer menu in our restaurant yesterday.

ママ：「昨日レストランで、夏のメニューして、スイカポケを始めたの。」

Sachi: "I love watermelon❤︎"

さち：「わたち、スイカ大好き❤︎」

Mommy: "Me, too. I've never thought of it before, but the watermelon with our hoousemade poke marinade is actually very delicious."

ママ：「ママも。以前は考えたこともなかったけど、自家製ポケのソースで和えたスイカが、本当においしいのよ。」

Sachi: "I don't know much about poke."

さち：「わたち、ポケのこと、あんまり知らない。」

Mommy: "Poke is the Hawaiian dish with the raw fish in the soy souce based marinade. Since it's the summer time, poke has been very popular in our restaurant."

ママ：「ポケは、お醤油ベースのソースで生魚を和えたハワイのお料理よ。夏だからかな、レストランではポケが大人気なの。」

Sachi: "Hmm...."

さち：「ふーん‥‥」
