Mommy: "I knew that the sparrows had made this nest on the side of the house."

ママ：「家の横にツバメが巣を作っちゃったのは知ってたけど」

Mommy: "I didn't know they made another nest there. And that one has a little second house attached to the main house. What the small sparrows."

ママ：「あそこにも別の巣を作ってただなんて、知らなかったわ。それにあの巣、メインハウスにセカンドハウスまで併設しちゃって。なかなか賢いツバメたちだわね。」

Makana: "I see the sparrow are flying around. I wonder they are going to have eggs soon."

マカナ：「ツバメが飛んでるのが見える。もうすぐ卵が産まれるのかな。」

Mommy: "Probably so."

ママ：「多分そうね。」

She is always an engel. 〜いつもエンジェル〜

Mommy: "Patio improvement, Day 1. Just categorizing between the restaurant tables and bistro tables, the patio already looked better. Adding the flowers, silverware and wine glasses made the patio even more inviting. What do you think, Ma-kun?"

ママ：「パティオ改良、初日。レストランのテーブルとビルトロテーブルを分けるだけで、パティオはすでにいい感じ。お花やフォーク、ナイフ、ナプキン、ワイングラスを置くと、さらにパティオが居心地良さそうですに見える。マーくは、どう思う？」

Makana: "I think our eating area needs some improvement. To start, maybe you can give a slow-feeder bowl to Sachi. She eats quicker than I do, and I sometimes feel Sachi behind me."

マカナ：「ぼくは、ぼくたちの食事のエリア改良が必要だと思う。手始めに、さっちゃんに、スローフィーダーズボールをあげるのはどうかな。さっちゃん、ぼくより食べるのが早くて、ときどき後ろにさっちゃんの気配を感じるんだよね。」

Mommy: "Haha. I wonder if she is a ghost behind, or a guardian angel."

ママ：「あはは。さっちゃんは、背後霊なのか、守護霊なのかってところね。」

Dream with the fresh lemons 〜新鮮なレモンの夢〜

 

Mommy: "This lemon tree was supposed to be a drawf lemon tree, but I don't believe it. It's probably twice taller than me."

ママ：「このレモンの木、背の低い小型のレモンの木のはずだったんだけど、信じられないわ。私の背の2倍くらいあるもの。」

Mommy: "But the fruit is growing well. It's going to be a good harvest this winter."

ママ：「でも果実はよく育ってる。今年の冬は、いい収穫になるわね。」

Sachi: "Oh! I love the topic of food. What fruit are we talking about?"

さち：「ああ！　食べ物のお話ち、大好き〜　なんのフルーツのお話でしゅか？」

Makana: "Lemons, Sachi. We cannot eat them. Phew, I'm thirsty. I want to drink the fresh well water."

マカナ：「レモンだよ、さっちゃん。ぼくたちは、食べられないんだ。ふう、のど乾いちゃった。新鮮な井戸水が飲みたい。」

The beautiful moonrise 〜きれいな月の出〜

Mommy: "What a beautiful moonrise tonight. The golden glow slowley melts into soft ivory and pale yellow, while the blue sky fades gently into the darkness of night. Stars and planets sparkle like jewels across the sky. Look. Even our vines seem to be bathed in the moonlight's blessing. Isn't it beautiful?"

ママ：「なんてきれいな月の出。金色が、柔らかいアイボリーと淡い黄色にゆっくり溶け込んで、同時に青い空が夜の闇に薄れていって。見て。うちのぶどうの木さえ、月明かりの恵を受けてるよ。きれいじゃない？」

Daddy: "Yes, it is."

パパ：「うん、きれい。」

Daddy: "And there is a wolf walking in front of it."

パパ：「で、その前を、オオカミが歩いてるよ。」

Mommy: "No, that's Ma-kun."

マカナ：「いや、あれは、マーくんだから。」

Makana: "?"

マカナ：「？」

The water and... 〜お水と‥‥〜

 

Mommy: "It's warm today."

ママ：「今日は、暑いわね〜」

Makana: "Yes. I'm getting thirsty."

マカナ：「うん。のどが渇いてきた。」

Mommy: "Speaking of being thirsty, These rose plants are recovering now. I forgot to water the plants for a while, and they were almost getting dead."

ママ：「のどが渇いたと言えば、このバラの木たち、回復してきた。しばらくバラの木にお水をあげるのを忘れてて、瀕死の状態だったのよね。」

Makana: "No one can survive without the water."

マカナ：「誰もお水なしでは生きられないよ。」

Mommy: "By the way, Ma-kun. Did you dig a hole?"

ママ：「ところでマーくん、穴掘りした？」

Makana: "Umm.... I might have helped Sachi."

マカナ：「あの‥‥ さっちゃんのお手伝いはしたかも。」

Fresh vegetables without seasoning, please. 〜シーズニングなしの新鮮なお野菜をお願い〜

 

Mommy: "Curry taste of the nappa cabbage and bacon, and kale, chicken, and tomato salad with house-made mustard dressing. It's nice to be able to have a glass wine and appetizer with you, darling. We don't get this very often since we work late every night."

ママ：「カレー風味の白菜とベーコン、自家製マスタードドレッシングで和えたケール＆チキン＆トマトのサラダ。パパと一緒にグラス一杯のワインと前菜を頂けるなんて、うれしいわ。毎晩遅くまで働いてるから、こういうこと、あんまりできないものね。」

Daddy: "I agree. This curry nappa cabbage is delicious."

ママ：「だよね。このカレー風味の白菜、おいしいなあ。」

Makana: "I think the nappa cabbage is more delicious without curry taste."

マカナ：「ぼく、白菜は、カレー風味がない方がおいしいと思うな。」

Mommy: "Umm, for you & Sachi, yes."

ママ：「ああ、マーくんとさっちゃんには、そうね。」

Shining in the dark 〜暗闇の輝き〜

Mommy: "I was a little scared, but I walked a little bit in the vineyard last night. It was dark, but the full moon was so bright."

ママ：「ちょっと怖かったけど、昨夜、ぶどう畑をちょっとだけ歩いたのよね。暗かったけど、満月はとっても明るかった。」

Makana: "I don't know how you decided to get out the car at night and walk in the vineyard in the dark. You could bump into coyotes. That's scary."

マカナ：「夜に車からでて、暗闇の中を歩くなんて、ぼくはさっぱりわからないよ。コヨーテに出会うかもしれないんだよ。こわっ。」

Mommy: "Speaking of in the dark, you kind of look dark today. Is it because of the angle?"

ママ：「暗闇と言えば、今日はマーくん、暗く見えるわね。アングルのせいかしら？」

Two different personalities 〜ふたりのちがう性格〜

Mommy: "Sunny likes to eat treats...."

ママ：「サニーちゃんは、おやつを食べるのが好きで‥‥」

Mommy: "Serene likes to take a nap better than eating treats. They are so different."

ママ：「セリーンくんは、おやつを食べるよりお昼寝するのが好き。ふたり、本当にちがうのよね〜」

Makana: "I'm more like Serene, and Sachi is more like Sunny."

マカナ：「ぼくはセリーンくんっぽくて、さっちゃんは、サニーちゃんっぽい。」

Mommy: "Haha. I have to agree with you. Both Sachi & Sunny love to eat, and both you & Serene have calm personalities."

ママ：「あはは。その意見に賛成。さっちゃんとサニーちゃんは食べることが大好きで、マーくんとセリーンくんは、落ち着いた性格だものね。」

Mommy: "An adorable dog visited our winery restaurant yesterday. He was a bit shy, but he still came to me to say hello. I was very happy."

ママ：「かわいい犬が昨日、うちのワイナリーレストランに来てくれたのよ。ちょっとシャイだったけど、ママのところにあいさつに来てくれたのよ。とってもうれしかったわ〜」

Makana: "I can come to say hello to mommy every day."

マカナ：「ぼくだって、毎日ママにあいさつできるよ。」

Sachi: "Me, too. I can even climb up on her. In addition, I'm adorable, too, according to daddy."

さち：「わたちも〜　ママに登ることもできましゅから。しょれにわたち、かわいいって、パパが言ってまちた。」

Mommy: "Umm, yes. All you said are correct."

ママ：「あ、うん。言ったこと、全部正しいわね。」

Mommy: "It’s kind of cloudy tonight, so the moon and stars aren’t showing very clearly. Speaking of stars, I just saw a little post on social media about which zodiac signs handle adversity the worst. Libra — which is mine — ranked the worst, and Gemini — which is Daddy’s — came in second."

ママ：「今夜は曇りで、月や星があんまりハッキリ見えない。星と言えば、ソーシャルメディアでちょっとした投稿を見たんだけど、逆境に一番弱い星座はママのてんびん座、二番目に弱い星座はパパのふたご座だったのよね〜」

Sachi: "It can't be helped, because you & daddy are Golden Retrievers. We, the Golden Retrievers don't handle adversity very well."

さち：「仕方がないでしゅよ。だってパパとママ、ゴールデンレトリバーでしゅから。わたちたちゴールデンレトリバーは、逆境に弱いんでしゅよ。」

Mommy: "Umm.... Technically, daddy & I are humans..."

ママ：「あの‥‥ 厳密に言えば、パパとママ、人間なんだけどね‥‥」

ママ：「んん？　立ち去っちゃった。どこ行くの？」

さち：「おっと。何も考えずに歩いてたら、ドアを通り過ぎてちまった。」

Mommy: "Welcome back, Sachi. Where is your brother by the way?"

ママ：「おかえり、さっちゃん。ところで、にいにいはどこ？」

Sleep well. 〜よく寝てね〜

Sachi: "I'm going to sleep with Mon-mon tonight."

さち：「わたち、今夜は、モンモンと一緒に寝る。」

Mommy: "That's good. Sleep well, Sachi. I mean, no need to wake up until I wake up. No need to come up on the bed and sleep on my leg, OK?"

ママ：「いいわね。さっちゃん、よく眠ってね。つまり、ママが起きるまで、起きる必要はないからね。ベッドの上に乗って、ママの足の上で寝る必要もないからね。」

Sachi: "...... I can't promise."

さち：「‥‥ 約束はできない。」

Mommy: "Night-night, Ma-kun. You are always a good dog."

ママ：「マーくん、おやすみ。マーくんは、いつもいい子ね。」

Sachi: "I'm always a good dog, too. I'm a little bit more affectionate to humans than other dogs."

さち：「わたちだって、いつもいい子でしゅよ。ちょっと他の子より人間に対する愛情が深いだけでしゅよ。」

Makana: "Zzzz...."

マカナ：「Zzzz....」

Makana: "It has been a long time since I smelled this delicious food in the kitchen."

マカナ：「キッチンでこんなおいしそうな食べ物のにおいがするの、久しぶりだなあ。」

Mommy: "It has been a long time since daddy & mommy cooked in the kitchen. I would like to change our working schedule for our healthy life style."

ママ：「パパとママがキッチンでお料理するの、久しぶりだもんね。自分たちのヘルシーなライフスタイルのためにも、仕事のスケジュールを変えたいとは思ってるんだけどね。」

Makana: "Mommy & daddy are working too much. I used to play with the you more before."

マカナ：「パパとママ、働きすぎだよ。以前はもっと一緒に遊んでたのに。」

Mommy: "I know. It's the dinner time. Would you like to come with us?"

ママ：「だよね。晩ごはんの時間だけど、一緒に来る？」

Makana: "Yes. I'll stay right next to you."

マカナ：「うん。となりにいようかな。」
