Hawaiian today 〜今日はハワイアン〜

 

Makana: "I'm wearing a Hawaiian shirt & a necklace today."

マカナ：「今日はぼく、ハワイアンシャツを着てネックレスをつけてる。」

Mommy: "That necklace is called a lei. It's cute, isn't it?"

ママ：「そのネックレスは、レイって言うの。かわいいでしょ？」

Sachi: "Mommy, my shirt is doing down."

さち：「ママ〜　シャツが脱げちゃう〜」

Mommy: "So tight on you when the buttons are on, and so loose when the buttons are off. What should we do with it?"

ママ：「ボタンを閉めてるとパッツンパッツンだし、開けてるとダブダブだし。どうすればいいのかしらね〜」

Kindness from our friend 〜お友だちのやさしさ〜

 

This week has been one of the busiest week since we became a winery. I worked from 8:00am to 11:00pm, had a lunch break for 15 minutes, and my dinner was at the oven while I was babysitting peppers for wine-club pickup party.

今週は、ワイナリーになって以来、一番忙しい週だったかもしれません。私の仕事は午前8時から午後11時前まで、ランチタイムは15分、晩ごはんはオーブンのそばで、ピックアップパーティ用にロースト中のパプリカを見つめながらでした。

One of our great friends heard what we've been going through this week, and made pork chop dinner for us. She doesn't know, but this really means a lot to us. I hope we can do something nice to her when we have a chance. 

仲良しのお友だちの一人が、今週の私たちの忙しさを聞きつけ、私たちのためにポークチョップの晩ごはんを作ってくれました。きっとお友だちが気づいていないと思いますが、これは本当に、私たちの心に沁みました。チャンスがあるときに、何か良いお返しができればと思っています。

Next morning　次の日の朝

Mommy: "What are you doing, Sachi?"

ママ：「さっちゃん、何してる？」

Sachi: "Ha! Nothing! I didn't do anything wrong like putting my head in the toy box."

さち：「はっ！　なにも！　おもちゃ箱に頭を突っ込むとか、悪いことは何もちてましぇんよ。」

Mommy: "Oh, that's what you were doing."

ママ：「ああ、やってたんだ。」

Things tastier than grapes 〜ぶどうよりおいしいもの〜

 

Chicken A: "I found it."

にわとりA：「見つけた。」

Mommy: "Found what?"

ママ：「見つけたって？」

Chicken A: "Table grapes that didn't get picked. Can I eat?"

にわとりA：「収穫されなかった食用ぶどう。食べてもいい？」

Mommy: "Sure. They are becoming raisins."

ママ：「いいよ。レーズンになってきてるけど。」

Makana: "I'm so sorry for chickens. They don't know anything tastier than grapes in this world."

マカナ：「にわとりさんたち、かわいそう。この世界にぶどうよりおいしいものがあるってこと、知らないんだから。」

Mommy: "I wonder what you are imagining right now."

ママ：「マーくん、今何を想像しているのかしら。」

The season of tarantulas 〜タランチュラの季節〜

 

Daddy: "Oh, a tarantula is walking on the dirt road. It's really like the season of fall."

パパ：「あ、タランチュラが未舗装の道を歩いてる。本当に、季節は秋って感じだなあ。」

Sunny: "They should greet us first before a tarantula, don't you think?"

サニー：「タランチュラの前に、私たちに最初にあいさつするべきだと思わない？」

Serene: "Umm... I didn't think that far."

セリーン：「あの‥‥ ぼくは、そんなとこまで考えてなかったけど。」

Makana: "Phew, my right ear tingles. Did I get a bite by a tarantula?"

マカナ：「ふう、耳がムズムズする。タランチュラに噛まれたかな？」

Mommy: "No, you didn't. Didn't I wipe off enough after washing you? Let me see."

ママ：「ちがうわよ。洗ったあとの拭きがあまかったかな。ちょっと見せて。」

Running around every day 〜毎日走り回って〜

 

More harvesting today. Our problem right now is that we don't have time. Four harvestings, transferring many wine cases, packing & shipping for wine club, and preparing food for the pickup party. These all came on the same week, and we are running around all day long. 

今日も更なる収穫です。私たちの今の問題は、時間がないということです。4つの収穫、たくさんのワインケースの移動、ワインクラブの梱包＆シッピング、ピックアップパーティのお料理の準備。これらがすべて同じ週にやって来て、私たちは一日中走り回っています。

Sachi: "We couldn't get to walk this morning."

さち：「今朝は、お散歩に行けなかった。」

Makana: "There are many people working in the vineyard right now."

マカナ：「今、ぶどう畑でたくさんの人が働いてるからね。」

Delicious Grenache 〜おいしいグルナッシュ〜

 

Daddy: "I'm excited to make Grenache wine this year."

パパ：「今年グルナッシュのワインを造るの、ワクワクするよ。」

Mommy: "We made rosé with Grenache grapes before, but this is the first time to make red wine with Grenache grapes."

ママ：「以前グルナッシュのぶどうでロゼを造ったことはあるけれど、グルナッシュのぶどうで赤ワインを造るのは初めてだものね。」

Daddy: "What beautiful grapes."

パパ：「きれいなぶどうだなあ。」

Mommy: "Also, these pieces are bigger than others. They look delicious♪"

ママ：「それに、他のより大きな粒だね〜　おいしそう♪」

Makana: "I have no interest at all."

マカナ：「まったく興味がない。」

Mommy: "I guess not."

ママ：「だろうね。」

Sorting grapes today 〜今日はぶどうのソーティング〜

 

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Grenache were harvested yesterday.

カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、カベルネ・フラン、グルナッシュが昨日収穫されました。

And grapes have started to be sorted this morning.

そしてぶどうは今朝、ソーティングが始められました。

There are so many things going on for us this week. We are looking forward to catching up on sleep next month.

今週は、本当にたくさんのことが同時進行で起こっています。来月、睡眠不足を取り戻すことを楽しみにしています。

Sachi: "Do you want me to lay down next to you to sleep?"

さち：「わたちが添い寝ちてあげようか？」

Mommy: "Well... You might kick me off from the bed if you sleep right next to me, right?"

ママ：「えっと‥‥ さっちゃんが添い寝したら、ママをベッドから落とすかもでしょ？」

Sachi: "I just need a little space for me."

さち：「ちょっとスペースが欲ちいだけでしゅよ。」

Daddy: "Harvesting day for us today."

パパ：「今日は、うちの収穫の日だ。」

Mommy: "Our very first Cab Franc grapes are being harvested. How exciting!"

ママ：「うちの初カベルネ・フランクが収穫されてる。ワクワクするね！」

Daddy: "Cab Franc grapes taste amazing. They are going to make great wine."

パパ：「カベルネ・フランクのぶどうの味が素晴らしい。いいワインになるよ。」

Mommy: "I can't wait!"

ママ：「待ち遠しい！」

Sachi: "Can I go to the vineyard, too? I might be a good help."

さち：「わたちもぶどう畑に行ってもいい？いい助けになるかもよ。」

Mommy: "Your kindness is enough. Thank you, Sachi."

ママ：「その気持ちだけで十分よ。ありがとね、さっちゃん。」

マカナ：「んん？　パパ、なんか言った？」

Mommy: "Pay attention to your food, Ma-kun."

ママ：「よそ見しないで食べて、マーくん。」

Makana: "Huh... You put so much food in my bowl."

マカナ：「はあ‥‥ ぼくのボールにごはんを入れすぎるんだよね、ママは。」

Mommy: "I put only one cup of dry food in your bowl."

ママ：「マーくんのボールには、ドライフード１カップしか入れてないよ。」

Sachi: "I didn't get any."

さち：「わたち、なーにももらってない。」

Mommy: "I put two cups of dry food in your bowl, Sachi. And you already ate it all."

ママ：「さっちゃんのボールには２カップ入れたけど、もう全部食べちゃったでしょ。」

Sachi: "Mmm...."

Sachi: "That's impossible!!!"

さち：「ムリ〜〜〜！！！」

Makana: "Ahhhh!!!! Stop it!!!"

マカナ：「ああああ！！！！　やめれ〜！！！！」

Mommy: "Huh... Why does it always happen like this..."

ママ：「はあ‥‥ なんでいつもこうなるのかしら‥‥」

Mommy: "Ha! There are some deer footprints on our property."

ママ：「はっ！　敷地内にシカの足跡が。」

Mommy: "The things ahead of this place..."

ママ：「この場所の先にあるものは‥‥」

Mommy: "Grapes! Well, they are inside of the net. I don't think they got eaten. We need grapes to make wine."

ママ：「ぶどう！　えっと、ネットの中にあるからね、食べられてないとは思うけど。ワインを造るのに、ぶどう、必要だもの。」

Sachi: "I wonder if I can be a friend of deer."

さち：「わたち、シカしゃんのお友だちになれるかな。」

Mommy: "Just knowing your personality, you might run away when you bump into deer."

ママ：「さっちゃんの性格を知ってるけど、もしシカさんに偶然出会ったら、さっちゃん、逃げちゃうかもね。」

Sachi: "A big one is scary..."

さち：「大きいのは怖いから‥‥」

Mommy: "What? What did you say?"
