Family weeding day 〜家族で草刈りの日〜

Daddy: "Now, let's use the new toy. I mean... the new weed-whacker."

パパ：「さあ、使おう。新しいおもちゃ、じゃなくて‥‥　草刈り機。」

Daddy: "Oh, this is great. It's heavy, but very powerful."

パパ：「ああ、これはいいなあ。重いけど、とってもパワフルだ。」

Chicken A: "It's a weeding day. We should help."

にわとりA：「草刈りの日よ。私たちもお手伝いしましょ。」

Chicken B: "It's a family weeding day. Let's do it."

にわとりB：「家族の草刈り日ね。さあ、やりましょ。」

U-chan: "I guess I can help, too."

うーちゃん：「じゃあ、私もお手伝いしようかしらね。」

Mommy: "That will be very helpful."

ママ：「そうしてもらえると、とっても助かるわ〜」

Makana: "I've been weeding myself."

マカナ：「ぼく、自分で草むしりしてた〜」

Ehime: "Ma-kun was eating the root of the weed."

えひめ：「マーくん、草の根っこを食べてまちたよ。」

Mommy: "Don't eat that, OK?"

ママ：「食べちゃダメよ。わかる？」

Daddy: "Honey. I made a path to cows. What do you think?"

パパ：「ママ。牛たちへの小道を作ったよ。どう？」

Mommy: "This is wonderful! Thank you, darling♪"

ママ：「これ、ステキ〜！　パパ、ありがとう♪」 

Mommy: "Why don't you let me try to hold the weed-whacker? Is it heavy?"

ママ：「草刈り機、ちょっと持たせて。重い？」

Daddy: "You shouldn't weed-whack. You are going to hurt your arm again. I said don't do it. No, no, honey. Ahhhh!"

パパ：「草刈りしちゃダメだよ、ママ。また腕を痛めるからね。だから、ダメだって。ダメ、ダメ、ママ。ああああ！」

Mommy: "I did weed-whack♪"

ママ：「草刈り、やっちゃった♪」

Daddy: "You shouldn't have."

パパ：「やっちゃった、じゃないよ。もう。」

Daddy's secret? 〜パパの秘密？〜

Daddy: "Let's put the gas in this container. We are going to see how powerful this is."

パパ：「さあ、このコンテイナーにガスを入れよう。これ、どれだけパワフルなんだろうなあ。」

Ehime: "Daddy, what is it?"

えひめ：「パパ。しょれ、なんでしゅか？」

Daddy: "It's the new weed-whacker. We bought the most powerful one at the store."

パパ：「新しい草刈り機だよ。お店で一番パワフルなのを買ってきたんだ。」

Mommy: "Your daddy won't let me use my weed-whacker since I hurt my arm last year. But someone has to weed-whack. The grass is so tall."

ママ：「パパったら、昨年ママが腕を痛めてから、ママに草刈り機を使わせてくれないのよ。でも、誰かがやらないとね。草、ぼうぼうだもの。」

Makana: "Wait, wait, wait!!! Did you buy a new toy? Is that for me???"

マカナ：「待って、待って、待って〜！！！　新しいおもちゃを買ったのお？　それって、ぼくの〜？？？」

Ehime: "The noisy one came..."

えひめ：「やかまちいのがやって来た‥‥」

Daddy: "No, this is mine."

パパ：「ちがうよ。これは、パパのだ。」

Makana: "What? Why? You are adult. Do you still need a toy to chew?"

マカナ：「えっ？　なんで？　パパ、大人なのに、まだカミカミするおもちゃが必要なの？」

Ehime: "Shhhh. You shouldn't talk so loud. That might be daddy's secret."

えひめ：「シーーーーッ。マーくん、しょんなに大きな声で言ったらダメでしゅよ。しょれ、パパの秘密ごとかもちれないでしゅから。」

Daddy: "It's not my secret! I mean, I don't chew a toy!"

パパ：「秘密ごとじゃないっ！　って言うか、パパはおもちゃをカミカミしないからっ！」

Mommy: "That's OK, darling. We won't tell anyone♪"

ママ：「大丈夫よ、パパ。誰にも言わないから♪」

Daddy: "What!?"

パパ：「えっ！？」

My video that was used for the news 〜ニュースで使われた私のビデオ〜

Daddy: "Oh, my gosh! What big pieces of hail!"

パパ：「わあ、すごいなあ！　なんて大きな粒の雹（ひょう）なんだ！」

Mommy: "Oh, no! Makana, don't go out! It's painful!"

ママ：「ああ、ダメ！　マカナくん、出て行かないで！　痛いよ！」

Makana: "Ouch."

マカナ：「いてっ」

Around 2:00pm yesterday, a big hail storm came through our area. They were pretty big pieces of hail, and didn't melt for a while.

昨日午後2時ごろ、たくさんの雹（ひょう）が降りました。かなり大きな粒で、しばらくは溶けませんでした。

Mommy: "Almost 40 minutes passed since we had the hail storm. It's still on the ground."

ママ：「ひょうが降ってからもう40分近くになるのに、まだ地面に残ってる。」

Mommy: "There are still some hail on the car as well! It's not my favorite time to go out when the ground is wet, there is someone who is picking up our wines at the tasting room. I need to drive down to the town."

ママ：「車にもまだ雹が残ってる！　地面が濡れているときにお出かけするのはあんまり好きじゃないけれど、テイスティングルームでうちのワインの受け取りに来て下さる方がいるからね。町まで運転して行かなきゃ。」

Makana: "So... Are there any reasons that my sister and I need to go to the tasting room?"

マカナ：「で‥‥　ねえたんとぼくがテイスティングルームまで行かなきゃいけない理由ってある？」

Mommy: "Well, yes. To drain your energy."

ママ：「うん、あるよ。マーくんの元気を消耗させるため。」 

Ehime: "I'll be sleeping right here. Please wake me up when we arrive."

えひめ：「わたちはここで寝てましゅから。着いたら起こちてくだしゃい。」

Mommy: "OK."

ママ：「わかった。」

I took the video while it was hailing. As soon as I posted it on Kula page of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, one Japanese news company contacted us to see if they can use the video on their page. I said yes. 

雹が降っているとき、私はビデオを撮りました。それをインスタグラムやフェイスブック、ツイッターのクラのページに投稿したらすぐ、日本のニュースの会社から連絡があり、このビデオをニュースで使ってもいいかと尋ねられました。私は、はい、と答えました。

There was also another weather company of America that contacted us to get permission to use the video. I said yes for this one, too. You never know what will happen when you post on the social media. You can see the video on www.kulavineyards.com.

アメリカの天気の会社からも連絡を頂き、ビデオを使う許可をもらいたいと言われました。こちらにも、はい、と答えました。ソーシャルメディアに投稿したら、何があるかわかりませんね〜　ビデオは、www.kulavineyards.com　でご覧頂けます。

Negotiation failed? 〜交渉は不成立？〜

Mommy: "Ma-kun. I've got to stand on the mat. Do you mind stepping to the side?"

ママ：「マーくん。ママ、マットの上に立たなきゃいけないんだけど、ちょっとどいてくれる？」

Makana: "Mm...."

マカナ：「んん‥‥」

Makana: "Why do you need to stand here?"

マカナ：「なんで、ここに立たなきゃいけないの？」

Mommy: "Because I need to brush my teeth. Look. Daddy is brushing his teeth now, right?"

ママ：「だって、歯磨きをしなきゃいけないんだもの。ほら、見て。パパだって今、歯磨きしてるでしょう？」

Makana: "Then, can you pay me with some treats? Then I'm going to move."

マカナ：「じゃあ、おやつでお支払いしてくれる？　そしたらぼく、動くから。」

Mommy: "What!? You just had breakfast."

ママ：「えっ！？　マーくん、朝ごはんを食べたばかりじゃない。」

Makana: "But, look. I'm so skinny. Don't you think I need to eat more?"

マカナ：「でも、見て。ぼく、こんなに痩せてるんだもの。もっと食べた方がいいと思わない？」

Mommy: "Well... You look skinny, but I think you are eating as much as you are supposed to eat as a puppy."

ママ：「うーんと‥‥　痩せているように見えるけれど、パピーとして食べなきゃいけない分量は食べてると思うよ。」

Makana: "......"

マカナ：「‥‥」

Makana: "Then, good luck with brushing your teeth from the distance today."

マカナ：「じゃあ、今日はその距離から歯磨き、がんばって。」

Mommy: "What!?"

ママ：「えっ！？」

Ehime: "Then, I'm going to stay here."

えひめ：「じゃあ、わたちはここに。」

Mommy: "That used to be my place to sit..."

ママ：「そこ、以前はママが座る場所だったのに‥‥」

Daddy: "Can I ask whose work this is?"

パパ：「さあ、これは、誰の作品かな〜？」

Ehime: "It's not mine. I was just laying down on the floor in the kitchen."

えひめ：「わたちじゃないでしゅよ。わたちは、キッチンの床にゴロンとちてただけでしゅから。」

Makana: "A-hem! This is my work. I created this art while I'm self-quarantining."

マカナ：「えっへん！　これは、ぼくの作品です。外出を自粛している間に、ぼくが作り上げた芸術です。」

Mommy: "That was you!!! What did you shred the newsletter of the winery!!!"

ママ：「マカナだったのね！！！　なんでワイナリーのニュースレターをシュレッダーしちゃったの！！！」

Makana: "Awww... I thought you were going to give me a compliment..."

マカナ：「あううう‥‥　褒められると思ったのに‥‥」

Daddy: "Sorry, Makana. You just chose the wrong material to create your art."

パパ：「悪いな、マカナ。マカナは、芸術を作り上げる材料を間違えたんだよ。」

Ehime: "That's right. I think you should have chosen Brioche like before, so that I could help you."

えひめ：「しょうでしゅよ。マーくん、前みたいにブリオッシュを選んでくれれば、わたちもお手伝いできたのに。」

Daddy: "That's the wrong choice, too."

パパ：「それも、間違えた選択だ。」
