Daddy: "Hana's breeder said that Ken has started to eat grain and hay."

パパ：「ハナのブリーダーさんが言ってたんだけど、ケン、穀物や干草を食べ始めたんだって。」

Mommy: "Wow. He is growing."

ママ：「わあ。ケン、成長してるのね〜」

Mommy: "The other colt who was born from the other mommy is so playful."

ママ：「他のママさんから生まれたあの男の子、とってもはしゃいでるわね〜」

Daddy: "They are good friends now."

パパ：「いい友だちになったな。」

Daddy: "Speaking of good friends, Makana & Sachi are the same."

パパ：「いい友だちと言えば、マカナとさちも同じだな。」

Mommy: "They are super playful when they get together. I can't even keep their whole bodies in the photo."

ママ：「ふたり一緒にいるときは、ものすごくはしゃいじゃうのよね。写真に体全部収まらないんだもの。」

Daddy: "Haha. Health is wealth."

パパ：「はは。健康が一番だから。」

Daddy: "Look. They are such good friends."

パパ：「見て。ふたり、本当に仲良しだなあ。」

Mommy: "They are. They often remind me of Kona & Ehime. I wonder if Makana & Sachi are going to be inseparable like Kona & Ehime used to be."

ママ：「ホントにね〜　ふたりを見てると、よく、コナくんとひめたんを思い出すのよ。マーくんとさっちゃんも、コナくんとひめたんみたいにインセパラブル（離れられない）になるのかしらね。」

Mommy: "Some are flowering now."

ママ：「今お花を咲かせているのもあれば」

Mommy: "The others finished flowering and started to become baby grapes. They are all adorable, aren't they, Sachi?"

ママ：「お花を終わらせてぶどうの赤ちゃんになり始めているのもある。どれもみんな、かわいいわね〜、さっちゃん。」 

Sachi: "Um, I'm a little busy collecting branches. Should I break this branch?"

さち：「あの、わたちは枝集めに忙ちいので。この枝、割ったほうがいいかな？」

Happy, please get better. 〜ハッピー、元気になってね〜

Happy seems to have a problem with her mouth. She probably ate painful weeds in the field. Happy's foster mother and I tried to catch her with the rope to check her mouth. After walking and running with her in 5-6 acres of the property, I was able to put the rope around her neck, and put the other end around the tree. 

ハッピーのお口に、問題があるようです。多分原っぱで、トゲトゲしい雑草を食べてしまったのかもしれません。ハッピーの里親ママさんと私は、ハッピーのお口をチェックするために、ロープでハッピーを捕まえようとしました。５−６エイカーの敷地を歩いたり走ったりした後、私はハッピーの首の周りにロープをかけることができました。そしてロープの別の端を木に巻き付けました。

Unfortunately, the rope was not tight enough around her neck, so she got out of it by backing up. We couldn't catch her after that.

残念ながら、ハッピーの首のロープは緩めだったようで、ハッピーは後ろに下がってロープから抜け出してしまいました。私たちはその後、ハッピーを捕まえることができませんでした。

At least, I think we made her tired as much as we were. We are hoping that makes her drink more water and washes out the painful stuff from her mouth.

少なくても、私たちと同じくらい、ハッピーは疲れたと思います。もっとお水を飲んで、お口から痛みのもとを洗い流してくれるといいなあ、と願っています。

Makana: "Phew, I'm tired."

マカナ：「ふう、疲れた。」

Sachi: "Me, too."

さち：「わたちも。」

Mommy: "Well, I'm the one who is supposed to be tired, don't you think?"

ママ：「あの、疲れているのはママだと思わない？」

First experience of swimming 〜泳ぎ、初体験〜

 

Mommy: "Oh, my! You are doing great! You can swim!"

ママ：「わあ！さっちゃん、ちゃんとやってるよ！泳げてる！」

Makana: "You are amazing. Even I cannot swim yet."

マカナ：「すごいな、さっちゃん。ぼくだってまだ泳げないのに。」

Sachi: "♪♪♪"

さち：「♪♪♪」

Sachi: "Wooooo! Please help me! I'm going to be drowned!"

さち：「うぉーーーー！助けて〜！溺れちゃーう！」

Mommy: "Oh, no! Sachi, this way!"

ママ：「なんてこと！　さっちゃん、こっちよ！」

Makana: "Look, Sachi, You can reach the bottom."

マカナ：「さっちゃん、ほら。足、下に着くよ。」

Sachi: "Oh. I didn't know."

さち：「あ、知らなかった。」

さち：「あああ！　やーめーて〜！！！」

Mommy: "You are growing, Sachi."

ママ：「さっちゃん、成長してるのね〜」

Sachi: "I'm already a mature lady."

さち：「わたちはもう、大人の女だから。」

Makana: "Daddy & mommy said that Sister Ehime used to say the same thing when she was a puppy."

Sachi, 16 weeks old 〜生まれて16週のさち〜

Sachi: "I'm now 16 weeks old. I'm still not able to get on the couch by myself."

さち：「もう生まれて16週なのに、わたち、まだひとりでソファーに乗れないの。」

Daddy: "That's OK."

パパ：「大丈夫。」

Daddy: "If you get on the couch, you might eat the blanket behind me liked Makana did when he was a puppy. Mommy knitted this blanket."

パパ：「さちがソファーに乗ったら、後ろにあるブランケットを食べるかもしれないだろう？　マカナがパピーだったときみたいに。このブランケットは、ママが編んだんだよ。」

Sachi: "I won't eat it. I just make a hole a little bigger."

さち：「わたち、食べないもん。ちょっと穴を大きくするだけだもん。」

Mommy: "Look. Snoopy says a good thing."

ママ：「見て。スヌーピーがいいこと言ってるよ。」

Don't wait. For things to get better, life will always be complicated. Learn to be happy right now, otherwise you'll run out of time.

じっと待っていないで。状況をより良くすることに関しては、いつだってややこしく絡み合っているから。それより、今ハッピーになることを学んで。じゃないと、時間がなくなっちゃう。

Mommy: "When I look closer, you kind of look like Snoopy, Sachi."

ママ：「よく見るとさっちゃん、なんとなくスヌーピーに似てるわね。」

Sachi: "Really? Snoopy must be a beautiful lady."

さち：「ホント？　スヌーピーって、きっとキレイなレディーなんでしゅね。」

Makana: "Sachi, Snoopy is male."

マカナ：「さっちゃん。スヌーピーは男だよ。」

Sachi: "What!?"

さち：「えっ！？」

A good brother 〜いいお兄ちゃん〜

Makana: "When Sachi is sleeping, I've got to keep watch."

マカナ：「さっちゃんが眠っている間は、ぼくが見張り番をしなきゃ。」

Sachi: "Zzzz...."

さち：「Zzzz....」

Mommy: "Since you've got a younger sister, you're looking more mature. A good big brother, Ma-kun."

ママ：「妹ができてからマーくん、しっかりしてきたね〜　いいお兄ちゃんよ、マーくん。」 

Makana: "He he. I love to get a compliment♪"

マカナ：「えへへ。ぼく、褒められるの、大好き〜♪」

 

Mommy: "It's flowering at the vineyard. They self-pollinate and become beautiful grape berries. All babies grow nicely♪"

ママ：「ぶどう園ではお花が咲き始めた。自分たちで花粉をつけて、きれいなぶどうの実になるのよね。赤ちゃんみんな、ちゃんと育ってるわね〜」

What do you expect me to do without biscuits? 〜ビスケットなしで何を期待する？〜

 

Sachi: "Where are daddy & brother Ma?"

さち：「パパとマーにいにいは？」

Mommy: "They went for a little more walk. Because you were sneezing like crazy, I asked them to leave us here."

ママ：「もうちょっとお散歩しに行ったよ。さっちゃん、すっごくくしゃみしていたからね、ここに私たちを残して行ってちょうだいって頼んだの。」

Mommy: "Baby grapes in the vineyard are getting close to bloom."

ママ：「ぶどう園のぶどうの赤ちゃんたち、そろそろ花を咲かし始めるころだわね。」 

Mommy: "While we are here, why don't we take some portfolio-photos of you? Can you give me a good look?"

ママ：「ここにいる間に、さっちゃんのポートフォリオ写真を撮るっていうのはどうかしら？　ちょっといいお顔してくれる？」

Sachi: "Like this?"

さち：「こう？」

Mommy: "A little cuter."

ママ：「もうちょっとかわいく。」

Sachi: "Like this?"

さち：「こう？」

Mommy: "That's scary. Can you smile?"

ママ：「それ、怖いから。ニコッとできる？」

Sachi: "Mmmm...."

さち：「うーん‥‥」

Sachi: "Like this? (smile)"

さち：「こう？（ニコッ）」

Mommy: "That's a good one. But I'm not sure if I like the angle of vines."

ママ：「いいわね〜　でも、ぶどうの木のアングルがちょっとね〜」

Sachi: "Daddyyyy! Brother Maaaa!!! Please help me! Mommy is forcing me to do too many things without biscuits!!!"

さち：「パパ〜〜！マーにいにい！！！助けて〜！　ママがビスケットもくれないのに、和たちにたくさんのことを強要しゅる〜！！！」

Daddy: "We are coming."

パパ：「今行くぞ〜」

Makana: "I can go for more walk."

マカナ：「ぼく、もっと歩ける〜」
