What happened to apples? 〜りんごはどうなった？〜

 

The busiest season in our industry is fall, from September to November. My husband & I are discussing a lot for harvesting and wine-making this year.

私たちの業界で一番忙しいシーズンは、9月から11月の秋です。主人と私は、今年の収穫とワインメーキングについて、たくさん話し合っています。

The new challenge is scary, but also exciting. One of the new projects that we are trying to do this year is harvesting the grapes that we never made the wine with. We are trying to bring the new varieties into our lineup. We hope our customers enjoy them.

新しいチャレンジは怖いことですが、ワクワクすることでもあります。私たちが今年しようとしている新しいプロジェクトのひとつは、今まで作ったことのないワインのぶどうを収穫することです。ラインアップに新しいワインを取り入れようと思っています。お客様、喜んでくださるといいな。

Sachi: "Are you trying to purchase grapes from other vineyards?"

さち：「他のぶどう畑からもぶどうを買おうとちてるでしゅか？」

Mommy: "Yes, we are. We always purchase more grapes from other vineyards."

ママ：「うん。いつも他のぶどう畑からもぶどうを買ってるじゃない。」

Sachi: "Mmmm....."

さち：「むむむ‥‥」

Sachi: "What happened to apples!!!"

さち：「りんごは、どうなったでしゅかっ！！！！」

Mommy: "What? Apples? There are some on the kitchen counter."

ママ：「え？　りんご？　キッチンのカウンターの上にいくつかあるけど。」

Sachi: "Mommyyyy. Welcome back."

さち：「ママ〜　おかえり〜」

Mommy: "I'm not back yet. I need to go back to chickens soon."

ママ：「まだおかえりじゃないのよね。すぐにわとりさんのところに戻らなきゃいけないの。」

Mommy: "Where is Ma-kun?"

ママ：「マーくんは？」

Makana: "I'm here."

マカナ：「ぼく、ここ〜」

Mommy: "Oh, there you are."

ママ：「あ、いた。」

Makana: "I'm coming to you now."

マカナ：「今ママのところに行くね〜」

Sachi: "No! You don't need to come. I'll take care of mommy."

さち：「ダメッ！　来なくていいでしゅから。ママのお世話は、わたちがちましゅから。」」

Makana: "?"

マカナ：「？」

Mommy: "?"

ママ：「？」

Makana: "I'm already here. You can hug me, mommy."

ママ：「もう来ちゃった。ママ、ぼくのこと、ハグしていいよ。」

Sachi: "No need. She can hug me."

さち：「しょの必要ない。ママは、わたちをハグしゅればいいでしゅから。」

さち：「次。これにちようっと。」

Makana: "I'm sure you already know, but I didn't make this mess."

マカナ：「もう知ってると思うけど、この散らかしをやったのは、ぼくじゃありません。」

Mommy: "I know it very well."

ママ：「ちゃんとわかってる。」

Sachi: "Not just brother. We did it together. (smile)"

Makana: "The only thing we did together tonight is chasing after someone in the backyard. (smile)"

マカナ：「今夜ふたりで一緒にやったのは、裏庭で誰かを追いかけただけ〜（ニコッ）」

Mommy: "What!? Who is someone?"

ママ：「えっ！？　誰かってだれ？」

Mommy: "Mmm? That's unusual. Sachi is not walking around in the backyard. She is actually laying down with Ma-kun in the sun."

ママ：「ん？　珍しい。さっちゃん、裏庭を歩き回ってないどころか、マーくんと一緒に太陽の下でゴロゴロしてる。」

Mommy: "Here is the better view. Oh, Ma-kun got up. But they are still together. I wonder if Sachi is starting to calm down."

ママ：「こっちからの方がよく見える。あ、マーくんが起きちゃった。でもまだ一緒にいる。さっちゃん、落ち着いてきたのかしらね。」

It's the season of love. 〜恋する季節〜

Mommy: "Two crows on top of the tree. I wonder if they are dating in the morning."

ママ：「木の上にカラスが２匹。朝のデート中かしらね〜」

Mommy: "Here are three chickens on the ground. I wonder if they are having a triangle-relationship. Women's world could be difficult, isn't it?"

ママ：「地面には、3羽のにわとりさんたち。三角関係かしらね〜　女性の世界は、大変なこともあるものね。」

Chickens: "?"

にわとりさんたち：「？」

Mommy: "Sachi is alone. That means she is single. Are you moving the tail again?"

ママ：「さっちゃんは、ひとり。ってことは、シングルってことね。またしっぽをパタパタさせてるの？」

Sachi: "Well, I might be single. But I have someone I like."

さち：「えっと、シングルかもちれないでしゅけど、わたち、好きな子はいましゅから。」 

Mommy: "Oh, that's right."

ママ：「ああ、そうだったわね。」

Fresh-baked bread 〜作りたてのパン〜

 

Mommy: "The bread-maker is so convenient. I set it on timer last night, and the fresh-baked bread is done in the morning."

ママ：「ブレッドメーカーって、本当に便利だわね。昨夜タイマーをセットして、朝には作りたてのパンができてるんだもの。」

Daddy: "Let's slice it for breakfast."

パパ：「朝食用に、スライスしよう。」

Mommy: "Since Ma-kun has a small appetite, let's mix some pieces of mozzarella cheese and bread in his bowl."

ママ：「マーくんは食が細いから、ボールにモッツァレラチーズとパンをちぎって混ぜよう。」

Makana: "Thank you so much."

マカナ：「どうもありがとう。」

Sachi: "Please put mozzarella cheese and bread in my bowl, too!"

さち：「わたちのボールにも、モッツァレラチーズとパンを入れてくだしゃい！」

Mommy: "You are standing with two feet, Sachi."

ママ：「さっちゃん、二本足で立ってるよ。」

Mommy: "Can I put some tomato jam on your bread?"

ママ：「パパのパンにトマトジャムを乗せてもいい？」

Daddy: "Yes, please. I'm going to get some blueberries and raspberries from the fridge."

パパ：「うん、お願い。ぼくは、冷蔵庫からブルーベリーとラズベリーを取ってくるよ。」

Let's make tomato jam. 〜トマトジャムを作ろう〜

 

Daddy: "What beautiful looking tomatoes. Are these from our neighbor friends?"

パパ：「なんてきれいなトマト。ご近所のお友だちからもらったトマト？」

Mommy: "Yes, they are. I'm making tomato jam with these tomatoes today." 

ママ：「うん、そうよ。今日は、このトマトを使って、トマトジャムを作るわね。」

Makana: "Zzzz...."

マカナ：「Zzzz....」

Mommy: "Ma-kun feels relaxed when I cook in the kitchen. Tomatoes are being cooked nicely. Let's skim off foam."

ママ：「私がキッチンでお料理をしているときは、マーくん、リラックスするのよね。トマト、ちゃんと調理されてきた。さあ、アクを取ろうっと。」

Sachi: "I've been saying I like apples better."

さち：「わたちは、りんごの方が好きっていってるのに。」

Mommy: "You say so, but your tail is moving up & down."

ママ：「さっちゃんはそう言うけど、しっぽは、上下にパタパタしてるよ。」

Mommy: "It's still runny. Let's cook down a little more. I wonder how many jars I can make."

ママ：「まださらさらだわね。もうちょっと煮詰めよう。ジャー、何本くらい作れるかしら。」

Cider now? 〜今度はシードル？〜

 

Mommy: "We are currently out of power at home. That means we have more time to do farm work, and to see the beauty of veraison, too."

ママ：「現在、お家は停電中。それは、ファームワークをする時間が増えて、きれいなヴェレゾン（ぶどうの色が変わること）を見る時間も増えるってことだわね。」

Mommy: "It might be going to be a little late harvest this year. It was a cold & miserable winter, so the bud break was late last spring."

ママ：「今年は、収穫が遅れるかもしれないわね。寒くて悲惨な冬だったから、春の芽吹きも遅かったもんね。」

Sachi: "Mommy."

さち：「ママ。」

Mommy: "Mm?"

ママ：「んん？」

Sachi: "You haven't changed the vineyard to apple farm yet."

さち：「まだ、ぶどう畑をりんご農園に変えてないんでしゅね。」

Makana: "Apples are tasty for sure."

マカナ：「りんごがおいしいのは、確かだよ。」

Mommy: "Umm... When are you going to drop the idea?"

ママ：「あの‥‥ その考え、いつになったら捨ててくれる？」

Cruisin Nite 〜クルージングナイト〜

 

Makana: "I'm glad we already ate dinner and went bathroom. There are so many people and cars on the street."

マカナ：「先に晩ごはんを食べてトイレに行っておいてよかったよ。人や車がたくさん通りにいるから。」

Sachi: "What's going on outside?"

さち：「お外で何が起きてるでしゅか？」

Mommy: "Cruisin Nite tonight. There are about 500 cars from the 1950's and 1960's cruising in downtown. Our customers are enjoying watching them from the front seats of our tasting room."

ママ：「今夜は、クルージングナイトなの。1950年代や1960年代の車が約500台、ダウンタウンをクルージングするのよ。うちのお客様たちは、テイスティングルームの全座席から楽しく観覧されてるのよ。」
