Special order 〜トクチュー〜

The other day, I brought my French baguette to the neighbor to ask her advice. She liked it, and her husband liked it. Then the husband asked me if I can make a rosemary olive oil baguette. I researched it and I said I would try. It's a special order from the neighbor!

先日、ご近所さんにアドバイスを求めて、自分で焼いたフレンチバゲットを持って行きました。おいしいと言って下さり、ご主人様も気に入って下さいました。そのときそのご主人が、ローズマリー・オリーブオイルバゲットを作れるかと尋ねてこられました。リサーシしてから、やってみますと答えました。ご近所さんからのトクチューです！

Mommy: "Let's use the house-grown rosemary to bake baguettes."

ママ：「バゲットを焼くのに、我が家で育ったローズマリーを使おう。」

Kahlua: "I'm falling soon..."

カルア：「もうすぐ落ちます‥‥」

Kahlua: "I fell..."

カルア：「落ちました‥‥」

Mommy: "Have a sweet dream, Kahlua."

ママ：「カルアくん、いい夢を見てね。」

Daddy: "I'm going to the town for a little while."

パパ：「ちょっと町に行ってくるね〜」

Mommy: "OK. See you later. I'm going to bake baguettes while you are away."

ママ：「うん。いってらっしゃい。私はパパがお出かけしている間、バゲットを焼いてるね〜」

Mommy: "I made cuts, brushed olive oil and put rosemary leaves in them."

ママ：「カットを入れて、オリーブオイルをブラシで塗って、その中にローズマリーも葉も入れた、と。」

Ehime: "Are you going to steam in the oven like before?"

えひめ：「前みたいに、オーブンの中で蒸気を起こすでしゅか？」

Mommy: "Yes. I put STAUB pan at the bottom and it has water in it. And I'm spraying the baguettes every five minutes."

ママ：「うん。ストウブ鍋を底に置いて、その中に水を入れたから。そして、５分ごとにバゲットにスプレーするわね。」

Kona: "I wonder if we can taste it."

コナ：「ぼくたち、味見できるかな。」

Mommy: "Done! I hope the neighbours like the baguette."

ママ：「できた！ご近所さん、バゲットを気に入ってくれるといいけど。」

Mommy: "Let's go for a walk while the baguettes are cooling down."

ママ：「バゲットを冷ましている間に、お散歩に行こう。」

Ehime: "I don't see horses today."

えひめ：「今日は、馬しゃんたち、いないんでしゅね。」

Kona: "I see buffalos back there."

コナ：「うしろのほうに、バッファローがいるよ。」

Kahlua: "I wonder where they were when it was raining."

カルア：「雨が降っているとき、バッファローたちはどこにいたんだろうね。」

Daddy: "Can you slice some of the baguettes for my snack, honey?"

パパ：「ママ。ぼくのおやつ用に、バゲットをちょっと切ってくれない？」

Mommy: "Sure. Hmm... they are still kind of flat, but I see more air pockets this time."

ママ：「いいよ。う〜ん‥‥　やっぱり丸くないのよね。でも今回は、前より気泡があるかな。」

Kahlua: "Let's see.... Mm! I think this is good♪"

カルア：「どれどれ‥‥　ん！おいしい♪」

Kona: "You should give me the double size of that."

コナ：「この倍のサイズをくれればいいんだけどな。」

Ehime: "I haven't had any yet."

えひめ：「わたち、まだもらってない。」

In the morning　朝

Daddy: Let's go to the town♪"

パパ：「さあ、町へ行こう♪」

Ehime: "I thought we are going for a morning walk. Where are we going?"

えひめ：「朝のお散歩に行くと思ったんでしゅけど。どこに行くでしゅか？」

Daddy: "Oh, honey. Look at that fog. It's over the town."

パパ：「あ、ママ。あの霧を見て。町に広がってる。」

Mommy: "It looks like we are above the clouds."

ママ：「私たちが、雲の上にいるみたいね。」

Daddy: "Those cows are mommy and her son."

パパ：「お母さん牛と息子の牛だ。」

Mommy: "Gosh, I want to milk the teats..."

ママ：「ああ、あのお母さん牛の乳しぼりしたい‥‥」

Daddy: "Ahaha. That's like an occupational disease, isn't it?"

パパ：「あはは。それ、職業病だね。」

Kona: "So, where are we going?"

コナ：「それで、どこに行くの？」

We were going to drive to the paved road to go on a morning road. Then my husband suddenly said "Oh, no. We don't have gas in the car." Ehime had the backpack on, and I was wearing the rubber boots. No one looked like good enough to go to the town(#^o^#). But we decided to go to the town and got some gas in the car. Phew. I'm glad the tank didn't go empty. 

朝のお散歩に行くために、舗装道路まで車で行こうとしていました。そのとき主人が突然「大変だ。車にガソリンがない。」と言うのです！えひめはバックパックを付けていて、私はゴム長靴を履いていました。誰も、町に行くほどきれいな格好はしていません(#^o^#)。でも私たちは、町まで行って、車にガソリンを入れることにしました。ふう。タンクが空にならなくてよかった。

Since it took one hour to go to the town and come back home, there was no time for a walk. I got all the dogs out in the yard and let them run around while I was working there.

町まで行って家に帰ってくるのに１時間かかったため、お散歩の時間はありませんでした。私が裏庭で作業をしている間、そこで犬たち全員に走り回ってもらうことにしました。

Kona: "Wait, wait!"

コナ：「待て、待て〜！」

Ehime: "No♪"

えひめ：「やでしゅよ〜♪」

Kona: "Got you!"

コナ：「捕まえた！」

Ehime: "Not yet!"

えひめ：「まだまだ〜！」

Ehime: "Ahhhh! You got me!"

えひめ：「ああああ！やられた〜！」

Kahlua: "Mommy, Goldens are dirty."

カルア：「ママ〜、ゴルデンズがドロドロ〜」

Mommy: "Sigh... Washing dogs again."

ママ：「はあ‥‥　また犬洗いね。」

In the evening　夕方

Horses: "It's a beautiful California day, isn't it?"

馬：「ステキなカリフォルニアの陽気だね。」

Ehime: "The horses spoke."

えひめ：「馬しゃんが、しゃべった。」

Mommy: "You are speaking, too.... on our blog."

ママ：「ひめたんもしゃべってるよ‥‥　ブログで。」

Cows: "Have a wonderful evening♪"

牛：「ステキな夜を♪」

Kona: "Thanks. You, too♪"

コナ：「ありがと。みんなもね〜♪」

Kahlua: "Everyone speaks a lot. But barking is only me♪"

カルア：「みんなよくしゃべるな〜　でもワンワン鳴くのはぼくだけ♪」

Happy's foster mommy: "Happy. Do you want weeds?"

ハッピーの里親ママさん：「ハッピー、雑草、食べる？」

Happy: "Yes! I do."

ハッピー：「はい！食べます。」

Joy: "I'm going to eat the weed from here."

ジョイ：「ぼくは、ここから雑草を食べます。」

Mommy: "Good job. You two are helping your foster mommy."

ママ：「えらいわね。ふたりで里親ママさんを手伝ってるのね。」

Romance❤︎ He is heartbroken... 〜ロマンス❤︎ 失恋しました..〜

Mommy: "Yaaaaaaa!!!!"

ママ：「やあああああ！！！！」

Kahlua: "How frightening... Let's stay away from mommy."

カルア：「なんて恐ろしい‥‥　ママから離れてようっと。」 

Mommy: "I think it's progressing, but why is the ground here so hard?"

ママ：「作業は進んでいるとは思うけれど、ここの地面、どうしてこんなに硬いのかしら。」

Kahlua: "I wonder if daddy and the Goldens are coming back soon."

カルア：「パパとゴールデンズ、もうすぐ帰ってくるかな。」

Daddy: "We are home♪"

パパ：「ただいま〜♪」

Kona: "We are back♪"

コナ：「帰って来たよ〜♪」

Ehime: "What are you doing over there, brother Kahlua?"

えひめ：「カルアにい、しょこでなにちてるでしゅか？」

Kahlua: "I'm trying to stay away from a witch."

カルア：「魔女から離れてようと思って。」

Mommy: "Kahlua, who is a witch?"

ママ：「カルアくん。魔女って誰のことかな〜？」

At cows　牛たちのところで

Happy: "Mooooo! Moooooo!"

ハッピー：「モーーーー！モーーーーー！」

Mommy: "This is unusual. What happened, Happy?"

ママ：「変だわね。ハッピーちゃん、どうしたの？」

Oh, my goodness! Happy noticed that 15 cows in the property next door came close to the fence. Their property is as large as 300 acres, which is about 26 of Tokyo Dome. It was my first time to see any cows walking by so close. Since Joy was really mooing to those cows, Happy's foster mommy and I decided to walk to them.

なんてこと！ハッピーは、フェンスの近くにやって来たおとなりの敷地の15頭の牛に気づいたのです。おとなりの敷地は300エーカー、つまり東京ドーム26個分の広さです。牛がこの近くを歩いているのを、私は初めてみました。ジョイがあまりにもこの牛たちに向かってモーモー鳴くので、ハッピーの里親ママさんと私は、歩いて行ってみることにしました。

Happy's foster mommy: "How friendly they are♪"

ハッピーの里親ママさん：「あら、なんてフレンドリーな子たちなのかしら♪」

Happy's foster mommy: "Look. This big black bull on the left is very interested in Happy. He must have fallen in love with Happy."

ハッピーの里親ママさん：「見て。この黒い雄牛、ハッピーにすごく興味があるみたい。きっとハッピーに恋しちゃったのよ。」

Mommy: "Oh, gosh. I can't show this on my blog, but I see he is excited with Happy now. I've never seen cow's romance in my life before."

ママ：「あらら。これはブログでお見せできないけれど、この男の子、今ハッピーのことを考えてドキドキしているのがわかるわ。。。私、人生で牛のロマンスを見たのは、これが初めてですよ。」

Happy's foster mommy: "Sorry, but you can't have Happy. You are the different pedigree."

ハッピーの里親ママさん：「ごめんね。あなたとハッピーは、おつきあいできないのよ。血統が違うから。」

Actually, we were all wondering if Happy is interested in things other than eating. So it was interesting seeing Happy go to see other cows and mooed with Joy. At that time, Happy's foster mommy came up with the funny idea. She said "Let's test if Happy comes when I make a noise using her snack bucket." If she leaves the group of cows for food, it means she prefers food to boys.

実は、私たちはずっと、ハッピーが食べること以外、他のことに興味があるのか気になっていました。なので、ハッピーがジョイと一緒に他の牛たちのところに行ってモーモー鳴くのを見るのは、興味深いことでした。そのとき、ハッピーの里親ママさんが、おもしろいアイディアを思いつきました。「ハッピーのおやつ入れのバケツで音を鳴らしたら、ハッピーは来るかしら？」もしハッピーが牛たちの群れを離れて食べ物のところにやってきたら、ハッピーは、男の子より食べ物が好きということになります。

Happy's foster mommy: "Let's see.... (bang, bang)"

ハッピーの里親ママさん：「どうかしら‥‥（バンバン、バンバン）」

Happy: "OK! I'm coming!!!"

ハッピー：「はいっ！いま行きます！！！」

Mommy: "Haha. She left the group of cows and is coming this way.

ママ：「あはは。ハッピーちゃん、牛の群れを離れて、こっちに来ちゃうのね。」

Happy: "Snack again, snack again♪"

ハッピー：「またおっやつ〜、またおっやつ〜♪」

Happy's foster mommy: "That black bull is now heartbroken."

ハッピーの里親ママさん：「あの黒い雄牛、失恋したわね。」
