Mommy: "That's right. I planted the seeds of cantaloupe and watermelon today."

ママ：「そうよ。今日はね、カンタロープとスイカの種を植えたの。」

Mommy: "Our backyard is rejuvenating little by little. It used to be much more beautiful before. We've got to pay more attention to it."

ママ：「うちのバックヤード、ちょっとずつ活力を取り戻してる。以前は、もっときれいだったもの。ちゃんと気にかけてあげなくっちゃね。」

Sachi: "I can help with plowing."

さち：「耕しゅのなら手伝える。」

Makana: "That means digging a hole, doesn't it?"

マカナ：「それって、穴掘りのことだよね？」

Sachi: "Huh, huh... I got in the car..."

さち：「はあ、はあ‥‥ 車に乗れた‥‥」

Mommy: "Huh, huh... I got you in the car... It was hard without your daddy."

ママ：「はあ、はあ‥‥ 車に乗せた‥‥ パパがいなくっちゃ大変だったわ。」

Sachi: "Where is daddy?"

さち：「パパ、どこ？」

Mommy: "He went to the new location. Remember? Our tasting room is going to be relocated to the bigger space and we are going to open the Hawaiian restaurant at the same place."

ママ：「新しい場所に行ったよ。覚えてる？　うちのテイスティングルーム、大きな場所に移転して、同じ場所でハワイアンレストランをオープンするからね。」

Mommy: "There are two glass garage doors on the restaurant side. We can open them to get the fresh air in when the weather is nice. It's cool, isn't it?"

ママ：「レストランサイドには、ガラスのガレージドアが二つあるの。お天気がいい日には、新鮮な空気を入れるのに、ドアを開けられるのよ。かっこよくない？」

Sachi: "Sure. But first, let me get off the car."

さち：「でしゅね。けどまずは、車から降ろちて。」

Mommy: "No, no. We are going to work together."

Mommy: "Spam chips that I made for a trial yesterday were tasty. They are probably good with beer."

ママ：「昨日試しで作ったスパムチップス、おいしかったわね。多分、ビールと合うんじゃないかしら。」

Mommy: "Since we ate a little bit too much for lunch, we had a simple dinner with the salmon & veggies wrapped in the aluminum foil."

ママ：「お昼ごはんを食べすぎちゃったから、晩ごはんはシンプルに、サーモン＆お野菜のホイル焼きだったね。」

Makana: "No, I didn't. I had my regular dinner with turkey & veggie rice."

マカナ：「ちがうよ。ぼくは、いつもの、ターキー＆お野菜のごはんが入った晩ごはんだった。」

Mommy: "Freshly made yesterday, at least, right?"

ママ：「少なくとも、昨日出来たてほやほやだったでしょ？」

Makana: "What are they?"

マカナ：「それ、なに？」

Mommy: "Scissors. I'm trimming your hair."

ママ：「はさみよ。マーくんの毛をトリミングするの。」

Mommy: "Your hair is pretty straight. I just cut a little bit on top."

ママ：「マーくんの毛は、結構まっすぐだわね。上の方をちょっと切るだけにするわ。」

Makana: "OK."

マカナ：「はい。」

Sachi: "(nom-nom)"

さち：「（むしゃむしゃ）」

Mommy: "Sachi. Don't eat Makana's hair after I cut."

ママ：「さっちゃん。マーくんの切った毛を食べないで。」

Sachi: "I already ate♪"

さち：「もう食べちゃった♪」

Mommy: "Aww. Well, you actually look better after getting a little hair cut around the head and ears. We should show you to daddy."

ママ：「あうう。あら、さっちゃん。よく見ると、ちょっと頭とか耳まわりのヘアカットして、なかなかいい感じになったんじゃない？　パパにも見てもらおうね。」

For a repair 〜修理へ〜

 

Our pickup truck got towed for a repair yesterday because it wouldn't start. It looks like the electric wire was chewed by the small animal like a bunny. Country-living never gets boring, right?

昨日、我が家のピックアップトラックが牽引されていきました。エンジンが、かからなかったからです。どうやら、うさぎのような小動物によって、電気の線をかじられてしまったようです。田舎暮らし、退屈しませんね〜

Sachi: "Speaking of which, it looks like the tractor was also having a problem this morning. We saw two guys fixing it at the bottom of the hill."

さち：「しょう言えば、トラクターも今朝、問題があったみたいでしゅね。丘の下で二人、修理ちてるのを見まちたから。」

Mommy: "I'm glad it got fixed. I hope our pickup truck gets fixed quickly."

ママ：「ちゃんと修理されてよかったわね〜　うちのピックアップトラックも、すぐに治るといいけど。」

ママ：「昨日テイスティングルームに来てくれたゼロちゃん、とっても落ち着いてたわね〜」

Mommy: "Zero stayed quiet while her mommy and her friend were enjoying wine."

ママ：「ゼロちゃん、ママさんとお友だちがワインをエンジョイしている間、ずっと静かにしてたもの。」

Makana: "We are quiet, too, when we are sleeping."

マカナ：「ぼくたちだって、眠っているときは静かだよ。」

Sachi: "That's right. Just like Zero."

Mommy: "Is that so? I actually think you two can be talkative during your sleep."

Congratulations, daddy. 〜パパ、おめでとう〜

Makana: "What are you holding in your hands, daddy?"

マカナ：「パパ、手に何を持ってるの？」

Daddy: "This is California Food Manager Certification. Remember? I drove for about two hours to take a class and an examination today. I passed it! This is the certification. Now we are able to open the restaurant."

パパ：「これは、カリフォルニア・フードマネージャーの認定書だよ。覚えてる？　パパ今日、授業と試験を受けるために2時間ほど運転していっただろう？　合格したの！　これは、認定書。これで、レストランをオープンできるよ。」

Mommy: "Congratulations, darling. Look. Even the roses are blooming for you♪"

ママ：「パパ、おめでとう。見て。バラの花さえも、パパのために咲いてきてるよ♪」

Daddy: "Thank you♪"

パパ：「ありがと♪」

Sachi: "Then, I'm going to look for treasure here to gift to daddy."

さち：「じゃあ、わたちは、パパに贈る宝物をここで探しょうっと。」

Daddy: "I appreciate your offer, but we would have taken out the treasure if that is buried there. We've been living here for 10 years."

パパ：「その提案はありがたいんだけどね、そこに宝物が埋まってるなら、すでに取り出してると思うよ。パパたち、ここに10年住んでるから。」
