Happy 8th Birthday, Ehime. 〜えひめ、8歳のお誕生日おめでとう〜

Ehime was born on June 19th, 2012. Today is her 8th birthday♪

えひめは、2012年の6月19日に生まれました。今日は、えひめの8歳のお誕生日です♪

Ms. D: "Happy Birthday, Ehime♪"

Dさん：「えひめちゃん、お誕生日おめでとう♪」

Ehime: "Thank you so much♪"

えひめ：「ありがとう♪」

Ms. D: "Here is a gift for you."

Dさん：「はい、これ。えひめちゃんにプレゼントよ。」

Makana: "What!? Just for my sister???"

マカナ：「えっ！？　ねえたんだけ？？？」

Makana: "Is it a big biscuit? Something written on it. What does it say?"

マカナ：「それ、大きなビスケット？　なんか書いてある。なんて読むの？」

Ms. D: "It says 'Happy Birthday'. Because it's Ehime's birthday today."

Dさん：「”ハッピーバースデー”よ。だって今日は、えひめちゃんのお誕生日だもの。」

Makana: "I want that biscuit, too."

マカナ：「ぼくも、そのビスケットほしい〜」

Ms. D: "I brought another biscuit that is shaped as a chicken."

Dさん：「マカナくんには、にわとりの形をした別のビスケットを持ってきたから。」

Makana: "I have a sensitive stomach for chicken meat."

マカナ：「ぼくのおなか、チキンのお肉を食べるとダメなんだけど。」

Ms. D: "It doesn't contain the chicken meat. It's just the shape of a cute chicken."

Dさん：「チキンのお肉は含まれてないの。かわいいにわとりの形をしてるだけ。」

Ms.D: "Here you are, Ehime. Please have a long life for your family, OK?"

Dさん：「はい、えひめちゃん。家族のためにも長生きするのよ。わかった？」

Ehime: "I'm planning on it. Thank you so much, Ms. D."

えひめ：「しょのつもりでしゅから。Dしゃん、ありがと。」

Last one year was the hardest year for Ehime. Most of her heart was made of the love to Kona, and that Kona had left from this world. Then she had to go through the cancer removal surgery. We couldn't walk her even inside of the hospital on that day, because of the Covid-19. What a year for her...

この一年は、えひめにとって一番つらい一年になりました。えひめの心のほとんどは、コナへの愛情で出来ていましたが、そのコナがこの世を去ってしまいました。それからガンを取り除く外科手術。新型コロナウィルスの拡散防止のため、手術の日は、えひめを病院の中まで歩いて連れていくこともできませんでした。なんて一年だったのでしょう‥‥

But now she has another buddy again to stick with, and they seem to be having a good time together every day. That makes us happy. We just hope Ehime is happy and stays with us as long as possible. Happy 8th Birthday, Ehime.

でも今は、またくっついていられる別の相棒ができ、毎日一緒に楽しい時間を過ごしているようです。私たちもうれしいです。私たちはただ、えひめが幸せで、できるだけ長く私たちと一緒にいてくれるといいなあ、と望むばかりです。えひめ、8歳のお誕生日おめでとう。

Makana: "Please don't forget about me, too."

マカナ：「ぼくのことも忘れないでよね。」

Mommy: "I never forget about you if you are holding my leg like this."

ママ：「そうやって足を捕まえられてたら、絶対に忘れないと思うわ。」
