Mommy: "I found the cork that says Chloe."
ママ：「クロエって書いてあるコルクを見つけたよ。」
Chloe: "I'm a popular dog."
クロエ：「私、人気がある犬なのよね〜」
My husband and I love living in the country. But one of the things we cannot get in the country is the great service that Las Vegas provides. So last Sunday, my husband and I went to get a hair cut and visited our favorite pastry store. Both my hair dresser and a pâtissier are also our great friends, so we brought them our Omega 3 eggs that were laid by our chickens in California. They seemed to be excited and that made us happy!
主人と私は、田舎暮らしが大好きです。でも田舎で得られないことのひとつは、ラスベガスが提供してくれるほど素晴らしいサービスを得られないということです。それで先週の日曜日、主人と私はヘアカットに行き、お気に入りのケーキ屋さんを訪れました。私のヘアドレッサーさんもパティシエも、仲のいいお友達です。それで私たちは、カリフォルニアのうちのにわとりたちが産んだオメガ３の卵を持って行きました。二人ともとてもうれしがってくれて、私たちもハッピーな気持ちになりました！
Mommy: "Thank you so much for making my hair nice! I feel like I'm back to being a woman♪"
ママ：「私の髪の毛をきれいにしてくれて、どうもありがとう！また女性に戻れた気がします♪」
Hair dresser: "Ahaha! Please come back anytime."
ヘアドレッサー：「あはは！またいつでも来てくださいね。」
At home おうち
Daddy: "We got some sweets from the pastry store♪"
パパ：「ケーキ屋さんで、スイーツを買って来たよ〜♪」
Kona: "OK. Let's eat❤︎"
コナ：「よし、食べよう❤︎」
Mommy: "Sorry. These are for humans."
ママ：「ごめんね。これ、人間用なの。」
In the front yard 前庭で
Mommy: "I'm going to throw a ball. Please catch it, OK?"
ママ：「ボールを投げるよ。キャッチしてね。」
Jack: "OK!"
ジャック：「わかった！」
Kona: "(smile)"
コナ：「（ニコッ）」
Mommy: "Go!"
ママ：「ゴーーーッ！」
Jack: "Yaaaaaaaaaa!!!!"
ジャック：「やああああああ！！！！」
Kona: "Wow! You are amazing."
コナ：「わあ！ジャックくん、すごいね〜」
Jack: "That was easy. Kona, it's your turn."
ジャック：「簡単だったな。次はコナの番だぜ。」
Mommy: "Go, Kona!"
ママ：「コナくん、ゴーッ！」
Kona: "I'll get it, I'll get it."
コナ：「オーライ、オーライ。」
Kona: "Oops!"
コナ：「おっとっと！」
Jack: "Oh, the ball fell on the ground."
ジャック：「あっ、ボールが地面に落ちた。」
Ehime: "What are you guys doing here?"
えひめ：「みんなここで、なにちてるでしゅか〜？」
Kahlua: "That stuffed animal in your mouth looks great."
カルア：「えひめがお口に持ってるぬいぐるみ、いいね〜」
Ehime: "This is mine. You should retrieve another one from the basket if you want."
えひめ：「これは、わたちのでしゅから。カルアにいも欲ちかったら、パスケットから別のを取ってきてくだしゃい。」
Mommy: "OK, Kona. It's coming!"
ママ：「はい、コナ。ボール行ったよ〜！」
Jack: "Don't close your eyes."
ジャック：「目を閉じるなよ。」
Kona: "Right here, right here!"
コナ：「ここ、ここ！」
Kona: "Oops..."
コナ：「おっとっと‥‥」
Jack: "Do you have bad eye-sight?"
ジャック：「目が悪いのか？」
Kona: "I'm getting tired..."
コナ：「ぼく、疲れてきちゃった‥‥」
Mommy: "Why don't we go inside? I heard Mara is coming to see us later."
ママ：「中に入る？あとで、マーラちゃんが遊びに来てくれるんだって。」
Mara, the German Shepherd and her mommy visited us! We got to know them through Chloe's & Jack's family a little before we left Las Vegas. Every time we come to Chloe's & Jack's house, we all walk together. But this day, the temperature went as high as 87F. It was too hot for doggies to walk on the concrete.
ジャーマンシェパードのマーラちゃんとママさんが、遊びに来てくれました！私たちがラスベガスからお引越しするちょっと前に、クロエちゃん＆ジャックくんのご家族を通して知り合いになりました。私たちがクロエちゃん＆ジャックくんのお家に来るたびに、みんな一緒にお散歩します。でもこの日、気温が摂氏30℃まで上がり、コンクリートの上を犬たちが歩くには暑すぎたので、お散歩に行くことはできませんでした。
Mommy: "We are still having a fun time together. Say, Chloe♪"
ママ：「それでもみんな一緒で楽しいわね。はい、クロエ〜♪」
Everyone: "Chloeeeeeee♪"
みんな：「クロエ〜〜〜♪」
Kona: "Mara, you actually look like Chloe. Show me your face closely."
コナ：「マーラちゃんって、クロエに似てるね。近くでお顔を見せて。」
Mara: "Umm,"
マーラ：「えっと、」
Mara: "Like this?"
マーラ：「こんな感じ？」
Kona: "You are taller than I thought. You look like a model♪"
コナ：「思ったより背が高いんだね。モデルさんみたい♪」
Kona: "Do you want to go for a drink with me someday? I know the place that has the nice filtered water. OK?"
コナ：「今度一緒に飲みに行かない？おいしいフィルターを通したお水がある場所を知ってるんだ。ね？」
Mara: "Well...❤︎"
マーラ：「え〜と‥‥❤︎」
Chloe's & Jack's mommy: "Chloe, what are you going to do? Kona is asking Mara out for a drink."
クロエとジャックのママさん：「クロエ、どうする？ コナくんが、マーラちゃんを飲みに誘ってるわよ。」
Chloe: "That's OK. I like a little more mature man like Kona's daddy these days."
クロエ：「いいの。私最近、コナのパパさんみたいな成熟した男が好きだから。」
When the sun was about to go down, it looked like the temperature got much more comfortable. Mara and her mommy had to go back home, but five dogs and four humans decided to go for an evening walk.
太陽が沈む頃、気温はずっと心地よくなりました。マーラちゃんとママさんは家に帰らなければいけなかったのですが、５頭の犬と４人の人間で、夕方のお散歩に行くことにしました。
Ehime: "Mommy, is that OK to walk on this beautiful concrete?"
えひめ：「ママ、こんなきれいなコンクリートの上を歩いてもいいでしゅか？」
Mommy: "It's OK. It's easier to walk, isn't it?"
ママ：「いいの。歩きやすいよね。」
I can never say enough about what wonderful people Chloe's & Jack's parents are. But one thing I really like about them is they know how to be nice to people.
クロエちゃんとジャックくんのパパさん＆ママさんがどんなに素晴らしい方たちかということは、言葉にしてもし切れません。でも私がとってもいいなあと思うことのひとつに、お二人が人に親切にする方法を知っているということです。
While many people tend to push what they believe is right to others, Chloe's & Jack's parents listen to what people want and try to make their wish come true. It's easy to say in words, but it's hard to make an action. I believe this is the true kindness.
大半の人が、自分が正しいと思うことを人に押し売りしてしまう中で、クロエちゃんとジャックくんのパパさん＆ママさんは、人の話しに耳を傾け、その願いを叶えてあげようとしてくれます。言葉にするのは簡単ですが、それを行動に移すのは難しいことです。これが本当に親切ではないでしょうか。
The dinner on the second day is the last dinner with Chloe's & Jack's parents on this trip. They cooked the nice meal for us and set up the table beautifully in their Italian-look courtyard.
二日目の夕食は、この旅でクロエちゃん＆ジャックくんのパパ＆ママさんと食べる最後の夕食でした。お二人は私たちのためにおいしい食事を作って下さり、イタリアン風の中庭にステキなテーブルセッティングをして下さいました。
Daddy: "Let's open the red wine brought from California."
パパ：「カリフォルニアから持って来た赤ワインを開けよう。」
Chloe's & Jack's daddy: "That sounds great."
クロエ＆ジャックのパパさん：「いいね〜」
