Funny trip to LA with three big dogs Part 2 〜ロサンゼルスへの旅 三匹の大きな犬との珍道中 後編〜

Ehime: "Mommy, are you doing OK holding your bathroom?"

えひめ：「ママ、トイレ、ガマンできる？」

30 min after we left the dog park in Fontana, we were still in the car to LA. Our next destination is the Japanese secondhand book store, called Bookoff. I tried not to think about bathroom, but it was getting to be an emergency. When we finally got to the parking area at the shopping mall, my husband and I opened the windows a little bit for doggies, and quickly got out of the car and looked for a bathroom. The first conversation I made with a Bookoff staff was "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" After I found the bathroom, I bought many books from my favorite author, Keigo Higashino. Including the CD's my husband purchased, the total became over $170. Again, this is a secondhand bookstore...

フォンタナのドッグパークを出て30分後、私たちはまだロサンゼルスへ向かう車の中でした。次の目的地は、日本の中古本を売るBookoffです。トイレのことは考えないようにしていましたが、だんだん緊急を要するようになってきました。ついにショッピングモールの駐車場に到着したとき、主人と私は犬たちのために窓を少しだけ開け、すぐに車を降りてトイレを探しました。Bookoffの店員さんと最初にかわした会話は、「すみません。お手洗いはどこですか？」。トイレを出て、私は大好きな作家、東野圭吾の本をたくさん買いました。主人の購入したCDを含めて、合計金額は$170以上に‥‥　繰り返しますが、ここは中古の本屋さんです。

Ehime: "Are you sure you will read all the books you bought?"

えひめ：「買った本、ホントに全部読むんでしゅか？」

Mommy: "I will. Three times per book at least♪"

ママ：「読むよ。最低１冊につき3回。」

Mommy: "By the way, Ehime. Why don't you give a little bit more space to Kona?"

ママ：「ところでひめたん？もうちょっとコナくんに場所を譲ってあげたら？」

Ehime: "What? Did you say anything, mommy?"

えひめ：「え？なんか言いまちたか、ママ？」

Our next destination is the Japanese grocery store, Mitsuwa. We stopped the car at a green area and tried to make the doggies go to the bathroom first, because we knew they had to wait for us again while we were eating lunch and doing some shopping. But since it's a new place for doggies, Ehime couldn't go bathroom. I was a little worried about her, because five hours without going potty for a puppy is a long long time. There was no choice. We headed to Mitsuwa. Our friend, Barbie was waiting for us there to eat lunch together.

次の目的地は、日本のスーパーMitsuwaです。Mitsuwaに行ってしまうと、私たちがランチを食べたりお買い物をする間、犬たちはずっと車で待っていなければいけないので、その前に、ちょっとした芝生で車を止め、犬たちにトイレをさせようとしました。でも知らない場所だったので、えひめはトイレをすることができませんでした。私はえひめのことがちょっと心配になりました。パピーにとって、トイレをしないで５時間過ごすのは、とてもとても長い時間だからです。でも仕方がありません。Mitsuwaに向かいました。そこでは、友達のバービーちゃんが待ってくれていて、一緒にランチを食べました。

Happening No.3　　ハプニングその３

Does anyone know what Ebikatsu is? I was very very looking forward to eating Ebikatsu for lunch. It's a prawn deep fry like a photo below, not a shrimp fry. I had a specific restaurant in mind to eat Ebikatsu. My husband, Barbie and I walked in the restaurant and I asked "I want to order Ebikatsu." Then, can you guess what the staff said? "What's Ebikatsu?" I was dreaming about eating Ebikatsu for a year, but the staff person said she never heard of Ebikatsu before. 

えびかつって知っていますか？今回ランチにえびかつを食べること、本当に本当に楽しみにしていたんです。えびかつとは、下の写真にあるような揚げ物で、海老フライじゃありません。えびかつを食べる場所として、行きたいレストランがありました。主人とバービーちゃんと私はそのレストランに行き「えびかつ、お願いします。」と言うと、スタッフさんに何て言われたと思いますか？「えびかつって何ですか？」って‥‥　この一年、夢にまで見たえびかつだったのに、スタッフさんは、えびかつなんて聞いたこともないって言うんです。

Daddy: "What did you order, honey?"

パパ：「ママ、何を注文したの？」

Mommy: "Shrimp deep fry."

ママ：「海老フライ。」

We did grocery shopping after lunch.　ランチ後のお買い物。

Mommy: "What do you have in your hand, Barbie?"

ママ：「バービーちゃん、その手にもってるの、何？」

Barbie: "Shiokoji, fermented in salt. This makes meat and fish so juicy and tasty."

バービー：「塩こうじ。お肉やお魚がジューシーでおいしくなるの。」

We said good-bye to Barbie at the store, and went back to the car.

お店でバービーちゃんと別れた後、車に戻りました。

Kona: "It's evening already."

コナ：「もう夕方だね。」

Ehime: "Mommy, I'm tired."

えひめ：「ママ、わたち、ちゅかれた‥‥」

Happening No.4　　ハプニングその４

Mommy: "Let's go to another dog park. You can stretch out there."

ママ：「じゃ、別のドッグパークに行ってみる？体を伸ばせるしね。」

Ehime: "Yay!"

えひめ：「ヤッター！」

We didn't expect this at all. This dog park didn't have a lot of green. Ehime went into muddy area, and her butt and tail got so dirty. We were about to head back to Las Vegas, but it was going to take six hours to get back home. Again, there was no choice. We had to make doggies eat dinner and let them do the bathroom. Ehime was still dirty after those things, but we put her in the car on top of the blanket.

こんなことになるとは思ってもみませんでした。このドッグパークには、あまり芝生がなく、えひめはドロドロエリアにジャンプイン。おしりとしっぽが真っ黒になりました。私たちはもうラスベガスに帰るところでしたが、家に到着するまでは6時間。でも仕方がありません。犬たちに晩ごはんを食べさせ、トイレをしてもらい、多少乾いたものの、まだえひめは真っ黒でしたが、そのまま車に敷いてあるブランケットの上に乗せました。

Daddy: "Wow, the gas is expensive in LA."

パパ：「わ〜、ロサンゼルスって、ガソリンが高いね〜」

Kona: "When can we get home?"

コナ：「いつおうちに到着できる？」

We got back home at 11:30pm. It was a 16 hours driving trip. Thank you so much for my beautiful husband for suggesting a trip and driving all the way to LA. Thank you so much for my three doggies for being great on this trip. We had a special family experience.

夜11時半、家に到着しました。約16時間の運転の旅でした。この旅を提案してくれて、ロサンゼルスまでずっと運転してくれた主人に感謝。旅の間ずっといい子でいてくれた三匹の犬たちに感謝。そして家族としてまた特別な経験ができたことに感謝です。
