Small businesses in California are confused. Due to the announcement from California Governor, bars & brewery are closed. Restaurants & wineries can operate only outdoor services.
カリフォルニア州の小企業が混乱しています。カリフォルニア州知事の発表により、バーやビール醸造所は営業不可に、レストランやワイナリーは、外でのサービスに限り営業可能となりました。
Some small businesses including us try to follow the guideline and paid the application fee to get the license to have the tables & chairs on the sidewalk. The others disagree with the Governor, have the tables & chairs on the sidewalk without permits and started to provide the service already. Some even provide the indoor service, too. Does this mean "Honesty doesn't pay"?
私たちを含むいくつかの小企業はガイドラインに従おうとし、歩道にテーブルやいすを置くライセンスを取得するために、申請書と共に費用を支払いました。その他の小企業は知事に賛成せず、許可なしで歩道にテーブルやいすを置き、すでに営業を始めました。その中には、室内での営業さえしているところもあります。これは、「正直者はバカを見る」ということなのでしょうか。
Toby: "I'm here with my parents today to support your business."
トビー：「ここのビジネスをサポートするために、今日はパパやママと一緒に来ました。」
Daddy: "Thank you, Toby. We really appreciate your support."
パパ：「トビー、ありがとね。ぼくたちをサポートしてくれること、本当に感謝してるよ。」
Makana: "I hope we can keep our business. Because my toys are getting worn out, I want new ones."
マカナ：「ビジネス、続いてくれるといいな。だってぼくのおもちゃ、ボロボロになってきているから、新しいのが欲しいんだもの。」
Mommy: "Your toys are getting worn out, because you chew so much."
ママ：「おもちゃがボロボロになってきているのは、マーくんがたくさんカミカミするからよ。」
Ehime: "I just like to eat and sleep. I'm going to take a nap here."
えひめ：「わたちは、ただ食べて寝るのが好きでしゅから。ここでお昼寝ちようっと。」
Mommy: "Do you really need to sleep in the middle of the room?"
ママ：「部屋の真ん中で寝る必要、ある？」
