Looking at the photos from yesterday, I was thinking that I can write a good blog today. But the things turned out to be the different way.
昨日撮った写真を見ながら、今日はいいブログが書けそうだなあ、と思っていました。でも事は違う方向に進んでしまいました。
One of our great friends from the neighbor restaurant on our tasting room street passed away with a heart attack this morning. It's still hard for me to accept this... He and his wife just got married this year and they were going to have the first Christmas together.
テイスティングルームがある通りのご近所のレストランを経営するお友達が、今朝心臓発作で亡くなりました。私はまだこのことを受け入れることができません‥‥ 彼とその奥様は今年結婚したばかりで、一緒に初めてのクリスマスを迎えるはずでした。
When we started as a winery without a tasting room, they were the first restaurant that was willing to do winemaker's dinner for us. They didn't care how small we were at that time. They believed in the quality of our wine.
私たちがまだテイスティングルームを持たないワイナリーとして始めたころ、この方達は「喜んでワインメイカーズディナーをします。」とおっしゃってくれた初めてのレストランでした。当時の私たちが小さなワイナリーであったことは全く気にせず、私たちのワインの質を信じてくれたのです。
They felt our pain when we lost Kona. They welcomed Makana on his fist day at the tasting room. I even saw him yesterday on the street before the restaurant opened. This is very painful...
お二人は、私たちがコナを失ったときの痛みを感じてくれました。テイスティングルームでのマカナの初めての日には、マカナを歓迎してくれました。昨日だって、レストランのオープン前に、彼を通りで見かけたのです。とても胸が痛みます‥‥
I'll see how we can help the family. Rest in peace, my friend.
