When your lovely dog had a cough 〜大切な愛犬が咳をしたとき〜

What would you do when your lovely doggie had a cough? 

大切な愛犬が咳をしたら、どうしますか？

Yesterday, Ehime suddenly started her cough when she came back from the backyard. She might have chewed some branches. We checked inside of her mouth, but nothing was there. My husband and I talked about taking her the vet if she doesn't get better. 

昨日、裏庭から戻ってきたえひめが、突然咳をし始めました。枝をかじってしまったのかもしれません。私たちはえひめのお口の中を調べましたが、何もありませんでした。主人と私は相談して、咳が良くならなかったらお医者様のところに連れていくことにしました。

We were wondering if there is any way that we can help to soothe her. I found the article on Google that says that honey lemon water is a also good remedy for dogs. I wasn't sure if Ehime likes lemon juice, so I just tried to make honey water and make her eat it. 

えひめの鎮静に役立つことは何かないものかと思っていたところ、グーグルで、犬にもはちみつレモン水が良い療法になる、という記事を見つけました。私は、えひめがレモン汁を好きかわからなかったので、はちみつ水を作って飲ませることにしました。

She was a little suspicious at the beginning, but she ate it! She usually likes the sweet things, so I thought this would work for her. Amazingly, her cough is getting better, too! I tried to give her a little more honey water this morning.

えひめは最初、多少疑いの目を向けていましたが、ちゃんと飲みました！　普段甘いものが好きなえひめ、きっと効果があると思いました。素晴らしいことに、咳も良くなってきたんです！　今朝、もう少しはちみつ水を飲ませることにしました。

This morning　今朝

Makana: "What is it?"

マカナ：「なに、それ？」

Mommy: "Honey from Central Coast, California. I'm making the honey water."

ママ：「カリフォルニア州、セントラルコーストのはちみつよ。はちみつ水を作るの。」

Mommy: "Let's put the hot water to dissolve the honey."

ママ：「はちみつを溶かすのに、お湯を入れて、と。」

Mommy: "It's too hot to eat like this, so let's put a few ice cubes to make it chill."

ママ：「このままじゃ熱すぎて飲めないから、冷ますのに氷を入れようっと。」

Ehime: "I could eat just ice cubes."

えひめ：「氷だけでもいいのに。」

Makana: "Ditto."

マカナ：「右に同じ。」

Mommy: "I know you like the ice cubes, but this is good, too. Here you are, Ehime. It's the honey water."

ママ：「氷が好きなことは知ってるけれど、これだっておいしいわよ。はい、ひめたん。はちみつ水。」

Ehime: "Thank you♪"

えひめ：「ありがと♪」

Makana: "Mmm? Just sister?"

マカナ：「んん？　ねえたんだけ？」

Ehime: "This tastes great♪"

えひめ：「これ、おいちい♪」

Makana: "(swallows the saliva)"

マカナ：「（唾、ゴクッ）」

Makana: "Umm, are there any more honey water that I can have?"

マカナ：「あの、ぼくが飲んでもいいはちみつ水、残ってない？」

Ehime: "I can share this with you if you want."

えひめ：「欲ちいなら、これ、マーくんとシェアちてもいいでしゅよ。」

Makana: "Really?"

マカナ：「ホント？」

Makana: "Yay! Mmm! This tastes great♪"

マカナ：「やったー！　んん！　これ、おいしい♪」

Ehime: "That's what I just said."

えひめ：「しょれ、わたちが言った言葉。」

Makana: "♪♪♪"

マカナ：「♪♪♪」

Ehime: "♪♪♪"

えひめ：「♪♪♪」

Mommy: "You two won't fight for food, will you? Anyway, I'm glad you are getting better, Ehime."

ママ：「ふたり、食べ物でケンカしたりしないのね。とにかく、ひめたんが良くなってきてうれしいわ。」
