I love when we are able to cook for dinner. 〜晩ごはんを作れる時間があるっていいね〜

Makana: "I'm watching daddy work hard."

マカナ：「パパが一生懸命働くように、ぼく見張ってるの。」

Daddy: "...... Do you have to?"

パパ：「‥‥見張ってなきゃダメ？」

Mommy: "How's Ribeye-steak-cooking going?"

ママ：「リブアイステーキの調理、どんな感じ？」

Daddy: "Going well. It's going to be the good dinner tonight."

パパ：「順調だよ。今夜は、いい晩ごはんになるよ。」

Makana: "When do you think the dinner will be ready?"

マカナ：「晩ごはん、いつぐらいにできる？」

Daddy: "Ribeye steaks will be done about in 10 minutes. You ate your dinner already, remember?"

パパ：「リブアイステーキは、約10分後に出来上がるよ。マカナはもう自分の晩ごはんを食べただろう？」

Makana: "Did I?"

マカナ：「食べた？」

Ehime: "If you need any help for cooking, please let me know, mommy. I'm the best cleaner, too."

えひめ：「お料理しゅるのにお手伝いが必要なら、いつでも言ってくだしゃいね、ママ。わたち、お掃除も大の得意でしゅから。」

Mommy: "Umm... OK. Thank you for your offer."

ママ：「あの‥‥　うん。ご提案、ありがとう。」

Ehime: "Do you need any help? Perhaps for tasting?"

えひめ：「お手伝い、必要ないでしゅか？　味見とか？」

Mommy: "Umm... I think I'm doing OK so far. Thank you for your concern, Ehime."

ママ：「あの‥‥　今のところは大丈夫かな。気にかけてくれてありがとね、ひめたん。」

Mommy: "Grilled vegetable salad is done."

ママ：「グリルドベジタブルのサラダ、出来上がり。」

Daddy: "Ribeye steaks are done, too."

パパ：「リブアイのステーキも出来上がったよ。」

Daddy: "It looks like a delicious dinner."

パパ：「おいしそうな晩ごはんだなあ。」

Mommy: "I love when we are able to cook for dinner. Let's eat♪"

ママ：「晩ごはんを作れる時間があるっていいわね〜　さあ、いただきましょ♪」

A lineup of beautiful grapes 〜美しいぶどうのラインアップ〜

Mommy: "Darling, I took some photos of grapes in the vineyard. Would you like to see them?"

ママ：「パパ。ぶどう園でぶどうの写真を撮ってきたの。見る？」

Daddy: "Yes, I would like to see them."

パパ：「うん。見たい。」

Daddy: "Wow, there are lots of grapes hanging on the vines."

パパ：「わあ、ツタにたくさんぶどうがぶら下がってるなあ。」

Mommy: "Right? This lineup of grapes looks amazing."

ママ：「でしょう？　このぶどうのラインアップ、すごいわよね〜」

Daddy: "Are these grapes Cabernet Sauvignon?"

パパ：「これ、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン？」

Mommy: "Yes. I wonder how many tons we can harvest this fall."

ママ：「うん。今年の秋は、何トンくらい収穫できるかしら。」

Daddy: "A lot. We can make a lot of wine with these grapes."

パパ：「このぶどうで、たくさんワインが作れるぞ。」

Mommy: "It's going to be the delicious wine. I can't wait♪"

ママ：「おいしいワインになるわね。待ち遠しいわ〜♪」

Ehime: "Huh... Against my will, our vines are growing well. I thought we could replant them to apple trees."

えひめ：「はあ‥‥　わたちの意思に反ちて、ぶどうの木が順調に育ってるなんて。せっかくりんごの木に植え替えできると思ったのに。」

Makana: "Apples could be good. When I don't have an appetite, I might be able to eat grated apples."

マカナ：「りんごはいいね〜　食欲がないとき、擦ったりんごなら食べられるかも。」

A baby horse 〜馬の赤ちゃん〜

Daddy: "Look. That white horse had a baby yesterday."

パパ：「見て。あの白い馬、昨日赤ちゃんを産んだんだよ。」

Mommy: "Wow, so adorable!"

ママ：「わあ、とっても愛らしい！」

Mommy: "I wonder who is the daddy. The baby has the darker color."

ママ：「パパは誰かしら。赤ちゃん、濃い色だわね。」

A white horse: "Baby's daddy... I wonder who that was."

白い馬：「赤ちゃんのパパ‥‥　誰だったかしら。」

Hana: "Well, daddy. I'm going to have a baby next spring, right?"

ハナ：「ねえ、パパ。私にも来年の春、赤ちゃんが生まれるんでしょ？」

Daddy: "That's right."

パパ：「そうだよ。」

Hana: "When the baby is born, could you take care of him or her?"

ハナ：「赤ちゃんが生まれたら、その子のお世話してくれる？」

Daddy: "What!? You are going to take care of your own baby, right?"

パパ：「えっ！？　赤ちゃんのお世話は、ハナがするんだろう？」

Makana: "We can babysit Hana's baby."

マカナ：「ぼくたちが、ハナちゃんの赤ちゃんのベビーシッターをしてあげるよ。」

Ehime: "Yes, we can. We are good at it."

えひめ：「ちてあげる〜　わたちたち、上手でしゅよ。」

Ehime: "Especially when you double up our food♪"

えひめ：「特に、ごはんを二倍にちてくれたら♪」

Makana: "I'll take chewy bones, please♪"

マカナ：「ぼくは、カミカミをお願い♪」

Day 3 & Day 4 in Las Vegas 〜ラスベガスでのDay３＆Day４〜

Mommy: "Henry's mommy & daddy. Thank you for letting us use your house."

ママ：「ヘンリーくんのパパさん、ママさん。おうちを使わせてくれて、どうもありがとうございます。」

Daddy: "We are having a wonderful time here."

パパ：「ここで素晴らしい時間を過ごさせてもらってます。」

The big reason for us to come to Las Vegas a few times a year is to get some errands done. One thing is going to the dentist and get our teeth clean. As you know already, I'm not the best patient for any doctor, since I'm coming with a big fear, sensitiveness and some different allergies. But my hygienist has been dealing with me for the last 10 years, and she is handing me pretty well. I don't know what to do without her now.

私たちが、一年に数回ラスベガスに来る大きな理由は、用事を済ませるためです。ひとつは、歯医者さんに行って、歯のクリーニングをしてもらうこと。すでにご存知のように、私はお医者さんにとって最高の患者さん、というわけではありません。大きな恐怖感と過敏、そして色々なアレルギーを持ってやって来るからです。でも私の歯科衛生士さんは過去10年対応してくれていて、私をとても上手に扱ってくれます。今では彼女なしでは、どうしていいかわかりません。

Another thing we do in Las Vegas is sending our Goldens to the groomer. Our groomer in Las Vegas is the best of the best! She is the specialist in large breeds, and our Goldens always come back to us with the perfect grooming. 

ラスベガスでするもうひとつのことは、我が家のゴールデンズをグルーマーさんのところに行かせることです。ラスベガスにいる私たちのグルーマーさんは、最高中の最高です！大型犬専門で、いつもパーフェクトなグルーミングで、ゴールデンズを返してくれます。

Mrs. T: "Here are your mommy & daddy, Ehime, Makana."

Tさん：「えひめちゃん、マカナくん。パパとママのお迎えよ。」

Makana: "We got cleaned♪"

マカナ：「ぼくたち、きれいになったよ〜♪」

Ehime: "I ate Ma-kun's leftover biscuit♪"

えひめ：「わたち、マーくんが残ちたビスケットを食べまちたよ〜♪」

Daddy: "What!?"

パパ：「えっ！？」

Mrs. T: "I'm opening the gate now... Oh! They are out already."

Tさん：「今ゲートを開けますから‥‥　あっ！もう出ちゃった。」

Goldens: "Mommy, daddy! We are done!"

ゴールデンズ：「パパ、ママ、終わった〜！」

In the afternoon　午後

Mommy: "Look, darling. Because the freeway is closed today, the local road has a traffic."

ママ：「見て、パパ。今日はフリーウェイが閉まってるから、道路が渋滞してるわ。」

Daddy: "There was a shooting case between policemen and a criminal on the freeway. It sounds like a big city, doesn't it?"

パパ：「フリーウェイで、警察官と犯罪者の銃撃があったからね。大きな街って感じだよね。」

Mommy: "That's right. I never heard any shooting case in our country town."

ママ：「その通りね。うちの田舎町で銃撃なんて、聞いたことないもの。」 

At night　夜

Mommy: "Can you eat dinner, Ma-kun?"

ママ：「マーくん、晩ごはん、食べられる？」

Makana: "Umm... just a little bit."

マカナ：「うーん‥‥　ちょっとだけなら。」

Daddy: "Here is Chirashi sushi that you wanted to eat, honey. I picked it up at your favorite Japanese restaurant in Las Vegas."

パパ：「ママが食べたがってたちらし寿司をどうぞ。ラスベガスでママがお気に入りのレストランで、テイクアウトしてきたんだ。」

Mommy: "You are so sweet. Thank you, darling."

ママ：「優しいね〜　パパ、ありがとう。」

Day 4　四日目

Makana: "I haven't seen Henry & his parents since we came to Las Vegas. Isn't this the day that we go back to our vineyard house in California?"

マカナ：「ラスベガスに来てから、ヘンリーくんとパパさん＆ママに会ってないよ、ぼく。今日ぼくたち、カリフォルニア州のぶどう園のおうちに帰るんじゃないの？」

Mommy: "They are in the different place during the summer. When we come back for Thanksgiving Day, you'll get to see them."

ママ：「夏の間ヘンリーくんのご家族は、別の場所にいらっしゃるのよ。サンクスギビングデーに戻って来たら、会えるわよ。」

Daddy: "Let's leave some wine in the fridge as a thank-you gift to Henry's parents."

パパ：「ヘンリーくんのご両親には、お礼のプレゼントとして、冷蔵庫にワインを何本か置いていこう。」

Mommy: "Let's do it. It was so nice of them for letting us use their house in summer."

ママ：「そうしましょ。夏場に私たちのおうちを使わせてくれるなんて、とっても優しい方たちね。」

On a road trip　ロードトリップ中

Ehime: "Ma-kun. Can I use your back as a pillow?"

えひめ：「マーくん、枕に背中を借りてもいいでしゅか？」

Makana: "Please do. I'm going to smell you and fall asleep."

マカナ：「どうぞ。ぼくはねえたんの匂いを嗅いで寝るから。」

Overwork? 〜過重労働？〜

Makana: "Sister, I'm a little tired and sleepy tonight."

マカナ：「ねえたん。ぼく今夜、ちょっと疲れてて眠い。」

Ehime: "Me, too. We worked in the tasting room after the road trip this week."

えひめ：「わたちも。今週はロードトリップのあと、テイスティングルームで働きまちたからね。」

Makana: "I thought I was the one who worked hard in the tasting room. You were sleeping."

マカナ：「テイスティングルームで一生懸命働いてたのは、ぼくだと思ったけど。ねえたん、寝てたよ。」

A little afterwards-story 〜その後の小話し〜

After the trip to Las Vegas, Makana has been drinking the well water and finally started to eat dinner. He doesn't have an appetite for breakfast, so he eats a little bit of food as a snack. Progress, right?

ラスベガスへの旅から帰り、マカナは井戸水を飲んでいます。そしてようやく、晩ごはんを食べ始めました。朝ごはんへの食欲はないようなので、おやつとして、フードをちょこっと食べています。良い方向に向かっているでしょう？

Ehime looks great. Her scar on the butt is much better. It doesn't look like it's bothering her much anymore, and it's not bleeding either. Good job, Ehime.

えひめは元気みたいです。おしりの傷は、だいぶ良くなりました。もうあんまり気にならないようで、出血もありません。えひめ、よくがんばったね。

Day 2 in Las Vegas 〜ラスベガスでのDay２〜

Mommy: "Thank you so much for making my hair beautiful again♪"

ママ：「また髪の毛をきれいにして下さり、ありがとうございます♪」

Hair dresser: "You're welcome."

ヘアドレッサーさん：「どういたしまして。」

Mommy: "You've been doing my hair for the last 10 years. I'm not going to have an affair with any other hair dresser♪"

ママ：「過去10年、私の髪の毛をして下さってるからね。他のヘアドレッサーさんと浮気はしませんから♪」

Hair dresser: "Ahaha. Thank you for staying my loyal customer."

ヘアドレッサーさん：「あはは。ご贔屓にして下さり、ありがとうございます。」

Mommy: "Oh, wow. It's raining in Las Vegas."

ママ：「わあ、ラスベガスで雨。」

Daddy: "It's because of monsoon."

パパ：「モンスーンのせいだな。」

Mommy: "Let's take a break at our favorite cafe in Las Vegas."

ママ：「ラスベガスのお気に入りのカフェで、休けいしましょ。」

Daddy: "One cream puff and one custard pudding. We must love custard."

パパ：「シュークリームひとつにカスタードプリンひとつ。ぼくたち、カスタード好きだな。」

At home　おうち

Mommy: "How is it, Ma-kun? Can you eat dinner?"

ママ：「マーくん、どう？　晩ごはん、食べられる？」

Makana: "I'll try. But I don't think I can eat a lot."

マカナ：「ガンバってみるけど、あんまり食べられないと思う。」

Ehime: "Don't worry, Ma-kun. As soon as I finish mine, I'll come and eat your food."

えひめ：「心配ちないで、マーくん。わたち、自分のを食べ終わったらしゅぐ、マーくんのごはんを食べに行きましゅから。」

Mommy: "You don't need to eat Ma-kun's food, Ehime. Your vet might say that you need to go on a diet again."

ママ：「ひめたんは、マーくんのごはんを食べなくていいのよ。またお医者さんに、ダイエットしなさいって言われるかもよ。」

Daddy: "A night in Las Vegas is so beautiful."

パパ：「ラスベガスの夜は、きれいだなあ。」

Mommy: "Yes, it is. We used to enjoy the entertainment at night when we used to live here."

ママ：「そうね。ここに住んでいたときは、夜のエンターテインメントをエンジョイしてたよね。」
