Our reds 〜私たちの赤〜

Kona: "Oh, carrots♪"

コナ：「あ、ニンジン♪」

Ehime: "Please put them in my mouth♪"

えひめ：「早くわたちのお口に入れてくだしゃい♪」

Kahlua: "I'm sorry if I eat your fingers, too."

カルア：「ママの指も食べちゃったらごめんね。」

Mommy: "Please don't eat them if you can."

ママ：「できれば食べないでね。」

In the afternoon, we bottled our reds, Estate Syrah 2016 and Zinfandel 2016. They were aged in the barrels about 22 months. We were waiting for this day to come for a long long time.

午後、私は赤ワインのボトリングをしました。自社畑のシラー2016年と、ジンファンデルです。これらのワインは、22ヶ月寝かせました。私たちはこの日が来るのを、ずっと首を長くして待っていたんです。

Our whites and Rosé have screw caps, but the reds have corks. After they put the wine in the bottles, they stoppered with corks. This lady with a pink hat is adding the closure caps on top of the corks.

私たちの白ワインとロゼはスクリューキャップを使用していますが、赤ワインはコルクです。ボトルにワインを入れたあと、コルクで栓をします。ピンクの帽子を被っている女性は、コルクの上にトップスをかぶせています。

And the machine right next to her makes the closures tight and closes completely.

そして、隣の機械がそのトップスをしっかり留めて、完全に封をします。

The bottles are sent to get two labels. One is the front label that has our dogs running in the vineyard, and the other one is the back label that has all the information about the wine. By the way, Kula means Gold or Golden in the Hawaiian language just for your information.

ボトルは、二つのラベルを貼るところへ送られます。ひとつはフロントラベルで、我が家の犬たちがぶどう園を走り回っているところが描かれています。もうひとつはバックラベルで、ワインのすべての情報が書かれています。ところで参考までに、クラというのはハワイ語で、ゴールドもしくはゴールデンという意味です。

The bottles are packed in the cases and stacked like this.

ボトルはケース（箱）に詰められ、このように積み重ねられます。

A bottling process involves many people. We sometimes get an unexpected happening, for example a worker broke a wine bottle and a whole case got wet. But no one needs to get angry. Accidents could happen whenever you are. We just do the best we can do then.

ボトリングのプロセスには、たくさんの人々を含みます。時には、予期しないハプニングがあったりします。例えば、作業員さんがワインの入ったボトルを割ってしまい、ケース丸ごと濡らしてしまうとか。でも誰も怒る必要はありません。どこにいても、アクシデントはつきものです。ただその時にできるベストを尽くすだけです。

A worker: "I'm going to store Kula's wine now."

作業員さん：「クラのワインを保管しまーす。」

Mommy: "Thank you so much!"

ママ：「よろしくお願いします！」

At home　おうち

Ehime: "I'm hungry..."

えひめ：「おなかしゅいた‥‥」

Mommy: "Me, too. Let's make dinner."

ママ：「ママも。さあ、晩ごはんを作ろうね。」
