Thankful for the things we have now. Part 4 〜今あるものに感謝して パート４〜

Last Friday　先週の金曜日

Mommy: "I have something I want to make using the homemade grape jam."

ママ：「自家製グレープジャムを使って、作りたいものがあるのよね。」

Kona: "Something smells good♪"

コナ：「なんかいいにおいがする♪」

Mommy: "I wish I can give you some, but I'm making some grape jam & raisin roll today. Dogs should not eat grape products. Sorry."

ママ：「分けてあげられたらいいのだけれど、今日は、グレープジャム＆レーズンロールを作ってるのよ。犬は、ぶどうのものを食べちゃいけないから。ごめんね。」

Mommy: "Now, let's make them then let them rise."

ママ：「さあ、膨らませよう。」

Ehime: "Don't we have anything to eat?"

えひめ：「わたちたちは、何も食べるものがないんでしゅか？」

Mommy: "What a sad look. I have biscuits for you guys."

ママ：「なんてさびしそうな顔。みんなには、ビスケットがあるから。」

Mommy: "Rolls are done♪ Let's bring one to the people who work at the wine making facility. I hope the taste is good."

ママ：「ロール、できあがり♪　ひとつは、ワインメイキングの施設で働いている人たちに持って行こう。おいしいといいけれど。」

Daddy: "It's tasty♪"

パパ：「おいしいよ♪」

Ehime: "Daddy is already eating."

えひめ：「パパ、もう食べてる〜」

This Monday　今週の月曜日

Mr. R: "One bin is full now."

Rさん：「コンテイナーひとつ、いっぱいになりました〜」

Daddy: "Thank you so much."

パパ：「ありがとう。」

Chicken A: "What's going on?"

にわとりA：「何が起こってるのかしら？」

Chicken B: "Humans are harvesting grapes. They said today is the last harvest day for the season."

にわとりB：「人間たちが、ぶどうの収穫をしているのよ。今日は、今シーズン、最後の収穫の日なんですって。」

Mommy: "Syrah grapes suffers from both heat and frost so much this year. We and our vineyard workers made so much effort to let them survive, and they showed us the best they could do."

ママ：「シラーのぶどうは今年、熱と霜の両方に苦しんだのよね。私たちやぶどう園の作業員さんたちが本当に一生懸命努力して、なんとかぶどうに生きてもらい、ぶどうもできる限りの力を私たちに見せてくれた。」

Daddy: "So we can show you the achievement with our pride."

パパ：「だから、ぼくたちのプライドを持って、ぼくたちが達成したものをお見せできるよ。」

Mommy: "Here!"

ママ：「はい！」

At the facility　施設で

Mr. M: "I'm taking your grapes out from the truck."

Mさん：「トラックからぶどうを出します。」

Daddy: "Thank you."

パパ：「お願いします。」

In the afternoon　午後

Kahlua: "Invaders are still here."

カルア：「侵入者が、まだいる。」

Ehime: "I'm getting excited for some reason."

えひめ：「わたち、なんか興奮ちてきた。」

Kona: "?"

コナ：「？」

Ehime: "Yaaaaaaa!!!!"

えひめ：「やあああああ！！！！」

Kona: "I thought you might come."

コナ：「やっぱり来ると思った。」

Ehime: "Taaaaaaaa!!!!!"

えひめ：「たあああああああ！！！！」

Kona: "(fell) you got me!"

コナ：「（ズドン）やられた〜！」

Kahlua: "Stop it, Ehime!"

カルア：「えひめ、やめなさいっ！」

Grape harvesting in the high temperature (92F) is like running a marathon rather than having fun. You sweat from top to the bottom, and your brain is not working. You only do the things because there are the things you have to do in front of you. That's it. It is one of the hardest thing to do in the whole process of grape growing.

約34℃の中でのぶどうの収穫は、楽しいというよりマラソンを走っているようなものです。頭から足の先まで汗をかき、脳は働いていません。目の前にしなければいけないことがあるからやっている、それだけです。ぶどう栽培のプロセスの中で、一番大変な仕事のひとつです。

Mommy: "Almost there. Keep working."

ママ：「あともうちょっと。がんばろう。」

After harvesting　収穫のあと

Mommy: "Let's give the grape jam to our vineyard workers. They are the ones who harvested our Syrah grapes. This will be a good thank you gift."

ママ：「ぶどう園の作業員さんたちに、ぶどうジャムをあげよう。あの人たちが、シラーのぶどうを収穫してくださったんだもの。いいお礼の贈り物になるわね。」
