Tomato jam with vanilla beans 〜バニラビーンズ入りのトマトジャム〜

Mommy: "I'm making tomato jam with vanilla beans. Let's cut mini tomatoes in half♪"

ママ：「バニラビーンズ入りトマトジャムを作ります。さあ、半分に切ろう♪」

Ehime: "Tomatoes are tasty as is."

えひめ：「トマトは、しょのままのほうがおいちいのに。」

Kahlua: "I smell something else. What is it?"

カルア：「他のにおいもしてきた。なにかな？」

Mommy: "It's vanilla beans. I sliced in the middle of two vanilla pods, scrapes the vanilla beans caviar from them by a table knife, and mixed in the organic sugar."

ママ：「バニラビーンズよ。二本のバニラのさやの真ん中をスライスして、テーブルナイフでビーンズを削り取り、オーガニックのお砂糖に混ぜたの。」

Kona: "The house smells like vanilla. It's like a cake shop."

コナ：「家がバニラの香りでいっぱい。ケーキ屋さんみたいだ。」

Mommy: "I'm going to mix the sugar in the tomatoes, and add some lemon juice."

ママ：「トマトにお砂糖を入れて、レモン汁も加えて、と。」

Mommy: "That's it for today. Tomatoes are going to sit in the fridge overnight."

ママ：「今日はここまで。トマトは、冷蔵の中で一晩過ごすからね。」

Today　今日

Kona: "How's the tomato mix?"

コナ：「トマト、どんな感じ？」

Mommy: "Lots of juice came out from tomatoes."

ママ：「トマトから、たくさんジュースが出たよ。」

Mommy: "Now, let's cook it."

ママ：「さあ、調理をしよう。」

Ehime: "When the tomatoes are sugary like that, I don't think we dogs can eat them."

えひめ：「トマトがしょんなにお砂糖だらけになったら、もう犬は食べられないでしゅね。」

Mommy: "I'm going to give you some dry apples when we do a daily training."

ママ：「デイリートレーニングの時に、干しリンゴをあげるわよ。」

Mommy: "I know I'm making tomato jam, but right now, it looks like salsa."

ママ：「トマトジャムを作ってるってわかっているけれど、なんだか今は、サルサみたいだわ。」

Kona: "But the house still smells like a cake shop."

コナ：「でも家は、やっぱりケーキ屋さんのにおいだ。」

Mommy: "We bought some canning tools last weekend. This green ladle is so convenient when I put jam in the jar. I don't need to drop jam on the counter anymore♪"

ママ：「先週末に、瓶詰めをする道具を買ったのよね。この緑のラドル（ひしゃく）、ジャムをジャーに入れるにはとっても便利だわ。もうカウンターに、ジャムをこぼさなくてもいいんだもの♪」

Mommy: "And let's see how this jar holder works..."

ママ：「このジャーホルダーはどうかしら‥‥」

Mommy: "Oh, my goodness! I can put the jar in the pan without splashing the boiling hot water on me! I don't need to burn myself♪"

ママ：「すごい、すごい！沸騰しているお湯を自分にかけることなく、お鍋の中にジャーをいれられるわ！私、やけどしなくてもいいだわ♪」

Kahlua: "That's normal, isn't it?"

カルア：「それが、普通なんじゃないの？」

Mommy: "It looks like two jars sealed well. They can last for one year in the pantry. We will try some left-over with crackers as an appetizer tonight."

ママ：「ジャーは二つとも、ちゃんと密閉できてるみたい。このままパントリー（食品貯蔵室）で、1年は保存できるわね。残りは、クラッカーと一緒に今夜前菜として食べよう。」
