The highest temperature was 111F! 〜最高気温は、約44℃だった！〜

A few days ago, our highest temperature was 111F! You may think that we are used to the high temperature like this since we were living in Las Vegas. But the humidity here is higher than in Las Vegas, and doing the field work without shade is not easy. Today's story is about two days after we had 111F.

数日前、最高気温が約44℃まで上がりました。私たちはラスベガスに住んでいたので、気温の高さには慣れていると思われるかもしれませんが、ここの湿度はラスベガスの湿度よりも高く、陰のないところで外の仕事をするのは、簡単なことではありません。今日のお話しは、44℃まで上がった二日後のことです。

Ehime: "We can eat zucchinis."

えひめ：「ズッキーニなら、食べられましゅけど。」

Kona: "But the zucchini bread has sugar in it. Mommy probably doesn't want to give any to us."

コナ：「でもズッキーニブレッドには、お砂糖が入ってるからね。多分ママは、くれないと思うよ。」

Mommy: "Umm... I'm sorry for bothering your conversation, but can you give me a little bit more space?"

ママ：「あの‥‥　お話中のところ申し訳ないんだけれど、もうちょっとママにスペースくれない？」

Mommy: "I think I'm going to use a whole zucchini for the zucchini bread."

ママ：「ズッキーニブレッド用に、ズッキーニまるまる一本使っちゃおうっと。」

Mommy: "Let's see... Probably about two cups of shredded zucchini. That's perfect♪"

ママ：「どれどれ‥‥　多分シュレッドしたズッキーニは、２カップくらいあるかな。パーフェスト♪」

Mommy: "Eggs are from our chickens, and a zucchini is from our garden. Country life is great, don't you think, guys?"

ママ：「卵はうちのにわとりたちから、ズッキーニはうちの畑から。田舎暮らしっていいわよね〜、みんな？」

Dogs: "Zzzz...."

犬：「Zzzz....」

Mommy: "Let's put the dough in the oven, and let dogs go out to the backyard before I go feed cows."

ママ：「生地をオーブンに入れて、牛たちにごはんをあげにいく前に犬たちを裏庭に出そうっと。」

Kona: "Let's play, Ehime♪"

コナ：「ひめたん、遊ぼ♪」

Ehime: "I'm looking for a lizard now."

えひめ：「今、トカゲしゃんを探ちてましゅから。」

Mommy: "Kahlua."

ママ：「カルアくん。」

Kahlua: "......"

カルア：「‥‥」

Mommy: "Kahlua?"

ママ：「カルアくん？」

Kahlua: "......"

カルア：「‥‥」

Mommy: "Kahlua. Are you OK? Oh, you woke up! You made me scared for a little while."

ママ：「カルアくん、大丈夫？あっ、起きた！もう、びっくりしたわよ〜。」

Kahlua: "I was sleeping deeply."

カルア：「よく眠ってたんだもの。」

Kona: "You came out, too?"

コナ：「カルアくんも出て来たの？」

Kahlua: "Mommy told me to go bathroom."

カルア：「ママがトイレに行きなさいって言ったの。」

After finishing baking the zucchini bread　ズッキーニブレッドを焼いたあと

Happy: "Moo. Dinner time♪"

ハッピー：「モー。晩ごはんの時間よ〜♪」

Serene: "Moo. Dinner time♪"

セリーン：「モー。晩ごはんの時間だよ〜♪」

Cheer: "Moo. I can hear you."

チア「もう、聞こえてるわよ。」

After feeding cows　牛たちにごはんをあげたあと

Mommy: "Thank you for coming to plant vines. Can I bring you some cold water?"

ママ：「ぶどうの木を植えにきてくれて、どうもありがとう。冷たいお水の差し入れをしてもいいかしら？」

Workers: "Yes, thank you."

作業員さんたち：「はい、ありがとう。」

Worker A: "Are planting these, too?"

作業員さんA：「これも植えてもいいですか？」

Mommy: "Yes, please."

ママ：「はい。お願いします。」

Worker A: "One, two, one, two..."

作業員さんA：「えっほ、えっほ‥‥」

Mommy: "Oh, how strong he is."

ママ：「あら、なんて力持ち。」

Mommy: "When those new vines grow, they will produce the grapes as much as Syrah vines like these. I can't wait to see them♪"

ママ：「新しいぶどうの木が育ったら、このシラーと同じくらいぶどうの実をつけるんでしょうね。楽しみだわ♪」
