Fourth of July is a special day. 〜7月4日は特別な日〜

 

July 4th is a special day for me. I landed in the USA 19 years ago on this day. My American dream came true in the different way from the one I originally had in my mind, but I'm very satisfied with my achievements so far.

7月4日は、私にとっては特別な日です。19年前のこの日、私はアメリカ合衆国に上陸しました。私のアメリカンドリームは、当初思い描いたのとは違った方法で叶いましたが、これまでの自分がやってきたことに、とても満足しています。

Yeaterday, we had a pancake breakfast at the local fire station as a donation, and saw the parade for Fourth of July as we do every year. Spending time with family. Being surrounded by the ones I love is my happiness. 

昨日は、毎年するように、寄付として消防署でのパンケーキブレックファーストを頂き、7月4日のパレードを見ました。家族との時間。大好きな人たちに囲まれることが、私の幸せなんだなあと思います。

Daddy: "These steaks have a lot of fat. It catches the fire."

パパ：「このステーキ、脂肪が多いなあ。火がついちゃうよ。」

Mommy: "They are huge steaks. We are sharing one, right?"

ママ：「大きなステーキだわね〜　ひとつをシェアするのよね？」

Sachi: "Then, you can share those house-grown Olallieberries with me♪"

さち：「じゃあ、しょの自家栽培のオラリーベリー、わたちとシェアちてもらっていいでしゅよ♪」

Mommy: "We finally get to eat Olallieberries today, since you go eat them secretly in the backyard when we are not looking. Do we still need to share with you?"

ママ：「ママたちが見てないときにさっちゃん、裏庭でこっそりオラリーベリーを食べるから、ようやくパパとママ、今日食べられるのよ。それでもさっちゃんとシェアしなきゃいけない？」

Sachi: "Well... I guess I can wait... until tomorrow. He he."

さち：「まあ‥‥ 待てるかな‥‥ 明日まで。えへへ。」

Makana: "You eat too much, Sachi."

マカナ：「さっちゃんは、食べ好きなんだよ。」

Sachi: "I'm growing up."

さち：「育ち盛りでしゅから。」

Makana: "How much are you going to grow?"

マカナ：「どこまで育つんだよ。」

Mommy: "Thank you for grilling, darling."

ママ：「グリルしてくれてありがとね、パパ。」

Daddy: "Thank you for making veggie dishes, honey."

パパ：「野菜料理を作ってくれてありがとね、ママ。」
