Going straight toward harvesting! 〜収穫に向けてまっしぐら！〜

Makana: "What? Are you harvesting grapes today?"

マカナ：「えっ？　今日ぶどうの収穫するの？」

Mommy: "Not today. These Cabernet Sauvignon grapes look gorgeous, and they are not sweet enough to make wine yet."

ママ：「今日じゃないよ。このカベルネ・ソーヴィニオンのぶどう、ゴージャスだけれど、まだワインを作るには、糖分が十分じゃないの。」

Mommy: "But from this time on, they are just sweeter and sweeter every day. They are probably ready to be harvested about in one month."

ママ：「でもこれからぶどうたち、毎日どんどん甘くなるわよ。多分１ヶ月後くらいに収穫できるんじゃないかしら。」

Makana: "Harvesting means that many people come with the scissors, right?"

マカナ：「収穫ってあれでしょ、たくさんの人たちがハサミを持ってくるやつ？」

Mommy: "Haha. That sounds scary when you say that."

ママ：「あはは。そういうふうに言うと、なんか怖いわね。」

Mommy: "But yes. They come with clippers and hand-harvest our grapes, because we don't do machine-harvest."

ママ：「でも、そうね。クリッパーを持った人たちがやってきて、手収穫をしてくれるの。うちは、機械収穫しないからね。」

Mommy: "Vineyard workers put the net on the vines, so the grapes are protected from the birds and deer."

ママ：「ぶどう園の作業員さんたちが、ぶどうの木にネットを張ってくれたの。だからぶどうは、鳥やシカから守られてる。」

Makana: "From you, too?"

マカナ：「ママからも？」

Mommy: "Umm... I need to taste grapes often as a winery owner. It's a very important job."

ママ：「あの‥‥　ママはね、ワイナリーのオーナーとして、頻繁にぶどうのテイスティングをしなきゃいけないのよ。とっても重要な仕事なのよ。」

Ehime: "That's a good excuse. I'll be a good taster when we become an apple grower."

えひめ：「いい言い訳でしゅね。うちがりんご栽培者になった時は、わたちがいいテイスティング係になりましゅから。」

Mommy: "You'll probably say 'tasty' and keep eating apples, won't you?"

ママ：「ひめたんは、”おいしい”って言って、りんごを食べ続けるだけでしょ？」

Makana: "Sounds similar to mommy with grapes."

マカナ：「ぶどうを持ったママと同じに聞こえるけど。」
