Golden days 〜ゴールデンデイズ〜

On the way back to my computer from my husband's office

主人のオフィースから自分のコンピューターに戻るとき

Mommy: "Hey. You guys are blocking me to walk through the hallway."

ママ：「ちょっと、ふたり。廊下をブロックしちゃって、ママ、歩けないじゃない。」

Ehime: "......"

えひめ：「‥‥」

Makana: "......"

マカナ：「‥‥」

When we sit down in front of TV　テレビの前に座るとき

Daddy: "Well.... High population here, isn't it?"

パパ：「なんか‥‥　人犬口密度が高いな、ここ。」

Mommy: "That's what I was thinking."

ママ：「それ、私も思ってたのよね。」

Makana: "Zzzz...."

マカナ：「Zzzz....」

Ehime: "Zzzz...."

えひめ：「Zzzz....」

When I want to sit down in the place that used to be mine

自分の場所だったところに座りたいなあと思うとき

Makana: "Any problem?"

マカナ：「何か問題でも？」

Ehime: "There is more space on the other side of the couch, mommy."

えひめ：「ママ、ソファーの向こう側にもっとスペースがありましゅけど。」

When we try to start a busy day

忙しい一日を始めようとするとき

Makana: "He he he. A toy in my mouth♪"

マカナ：「えへへへ。ぼくのお口におもちゃ♪」

Ehime: "I'm going to take a morning nap."

えひめ：「わたちは、朝寝ちようっと。」

Daddy: "What a relaxing start of the day for them..."

パパ：「なんてリラックスした一日の始まりなんだ‥‥」

By the way, do you remember my husband and I have been weed-whacking in our property? We've been working in turn by passing on the weed-whacker, but it was still a lot of work. Especial for a small person like me who doesn't have even 100 pounds, it was a big job to keep holding up the powerful weed-whacker that was sold as the heaviest one in the store.

ところで、主人と私が敷地内の草刈りをしていたことを覚えておられるでしょうか。草刈り機を渡しながら順番に働いていましたが、結構大変でした。特に100ポンド（45キロ）もない私のような小さな人間には、お店で一番重いものとして売られていたパワフルな草刈り機を持ち上げ続けるのは、大層な仕事でした。

The snakes lay eggs in the bushy area. The one I saw on the morning walk with dogs the other day was a snake called Gopher Snake. They are usually good for farmers, because they eat gophers. But we definitely don't want to have rattle snakes around us. 

ヘビは、草むらで卵を産みます。先日私が犬たちとの朝のお散歩で見たのは、ホリネズミヘビと呼ばれるヘビでした。これはホリネズミを食べてくれるので、農家にとってはたいてい良いヘビです。でも、ガラガラヘビには来てもらいたくありません。

I learned from my scary experience with the rattle snake when I was with Kahlua, Kona and Ehime a few years ago. I don't want to put anyone in danger anymore. So I want to keep the weeds in our property as short as possible.

私は数年前、カルア、コナ、えひめといるときに、ガラガラヘビのことで怖い経験をしたことから学びました。もう誰のことも危険にさらしたくありません。だから敷地内の雑草を、できるだけ短くしておきたいと思っています。

Surprisingly, our friends who got to know that we have been weed-whacking at the bottom of the hill, came over with a tractor and cut all the weeds quickly! I don't know how to express our appreciation for this. When you got to know that friends who care about you, your heart gets warm, right? I guess that's what we have right now. We can still be nice to others even in this tough situation with the virus.

驚いたことに、私たちが丘の下で草刈りをしていると知ったお友達がトラクターでやって来て、ちゃちゃっとすべての雑草を刈ってくれたんです！この感謝の気持ちを、どうやって表現すればいいのかわかりません。お友達が自分を気にかけてくれているとわかったとき、心が温かくなりますよね？今、そういう気持ちなのだと思います。ウィルスで大変な状況下でも、人はまだ優しくなることができるのですね。
