A difficult thing 〜難しいこと〜

 

Happy: "I'm not feeling well..."

ハッピー：「私、あんまり元気がないの‥‥」

My husband & I tried to rope her to check her mouth, since she hasn't eaten and or drank much for a week. As I said before, it's hard to catch our cows because they live in the forrest freely. 

ハッピーは一週間、食べることも飲むこともしていなかったので、主人と私はハッピーの口をチェックするために、ロープで捕まえようとしました。以前にもお話ししたように、我が家の牛たちは林に自由に住んでいるので、捕まえるのは大変です。

My husband successfully caught one of her back legs with the rope, and I put another rope around her neck. With help from Happy's foster mommy, we washed her mouth. We didn't see anything wrong in it. We made her drink some water from the hose, and released her a little later. It seems easy when I put it down in words, but it was difficult for both Happy and us.

主人はロープでハッピーの後ろ足を捕まえることに成功し、私は別のロープをハッピーの首にかけました。ハッピーの里親ママさんにもお手伝いして頂き、私たちはハッピーの口を洗いました。中には変なものはありませんでした。私たちはホースでハッピーにお水を飲ませ、少ししてから解放しました。言葉にすれば簡単なようですが、それは、ハッピーにとっても私たちにとっても、難しいことでした。

This morning, Happy ate a little bit of hay, but she didn't eat any grain. I put some honey to mix in the grain to enhance it, but it didn't help her. 

今朝、ハッピーは干草を少し食べましたが、穀物は食べませんでした。食欲増進に、穀物にハチミツを混ぜましたが、助けにはなりませんでした。

It's heartbreaking when we see our loved animals are not eating well. It doesn't matter if it's a dog or a cow. We just want them to be healthy and happy. Why is this so difficult?

大好きな動物が食べないのを見るのは、心痛いことです。それが犬であっても牛であっても同じです。ただ健康で幸せでいてもらいたいのに、どうしてこんなに難しいのでしょうか。
