What's family business? 〜ファミリービジネスってなに？〜

Finally! Kula Vineyards & Winery is soft-opening on August 8th, Thursday. August 8th is a special day for us. It was the birthday of my husband's younger sister who passed away in 2012. Also, my father who passed away in 1995 used to tell me that eight is the future opening number, because the character in Japanese is written 八.

いよいよです！　クラぶどう園＆ワイナリーが、８月８日の木曜日に、ソフトオープンします。８月８日は、私たちにとっては特別な日です。その日は、2012年に亡くなった主人の妹のお誕生日でした。そして、1995年に亡くなった私の父は、よく私に「８という数字は、末広がりで将来が開ける数だ。なぜなら、漢字で八と書くからだよ。」と話していました。

We decided to have a huge size of the canvas picture of our wine label on the wall. In this picture, we have the meaning of that everyone is happy and moving forward with their smile. Kahlua who went to the rainbow bridge is there, too. This is the first thing to see when you open the door of our tasting room.

私たちは壁に、ワインラベルを巨大サイズのキャンバス絵にして飾ることにしました。この絵には、みんなが幸せで、笑顔で前に向かって進んでいる、という意味を込めています。虹の橋に行ったカルアも一緒です。これは、私たちのテイスティングルームのドアを開けたときに、最初に目に入る絵です。 

In the main seating area, our contractor made a lighting fixture using the rims from wine barrels. Some beautiful lights are hanging from there.

座れる場所があるメインのエリアには、コントラクターさんが、ワイン樽のリムを使って照明器具を作ってくれました。きれいなライトがそこからぶら下がっています。

Ta da! This is the tasting counter. The counter top was made of redwood, and the bottom side was made with the barrel staves. There is a doggie gate attached to the counter on the left. Why? Because Kona & Ehime are going to welcome you there!

ジャジャーン！　ここが、テイスティングカウンターです。カウンタートップは、レッドウッド（ヒノキ科の樹木）で作られました。そしてカウンター下は、樽の木片で作られています。カウンターの左側には、犬用ゲートが装着されています。なぜかって？　それは、コナとえひめが、ここで皆様をお迎えするからです！

Kona: "What? Am I working at the tasting room, too?"

コナ：「えっ？　ぼくもテイスティングルームで働くの？」

Ehime: "Before I sign my contract, I just want to make sure that you know my hourly rate is expensive."

えひめ：「契約を結ぶ前にはっきりちておきたいんでしゅけど、わたちの時給は高いでしゅよ。」

Mommy: "Well, this is the family business. We'll pay you with our love❤︎."

ママ：「え〜っと、これは、ファミリービジネスだからね。パパとママの愛でお支払いするわ❤︎」

Ehime: "What!?"

えひめ：「えっ！？」
