This is the reason why the smoke detector went off. 〜煙探知機が鳴った理由〜

Deer A: "I'm thirsty. Let's have some wate... Mmm? Someone is watching us from there."

シカA：「のどかわいた〜　さあ、お水を飲も‥‥　ん？あそこから、誰かが見てる。」

Deer B: "That's OK. She is a photographer of wild animals."

シカB：「大丈夫。あの人は、野生動物の写真家なの。」

Happy: "Are you a photographer of wild animals? I didn't know that."

ハッピー：「野生動物の写真家だったの？知らなかった〜」

Mommy: "I'm a blogger. I guess I take a lot of photos of animals."

ママ：「ブロガーなんだけど。まあ、動物の写真はたくさん撮るわね。」

At home　おうち

Kahlua: "Did you say that more watermelons are growing?"

カルア：「すいかがどんどん育ってるんだって？」

Mommy: "Yes. We need to eat up the one in the fridge soon."

ママ：「うん。冷蔵庫に入ってるすいか、はやく食べなきゃ。」

Mommy: "I'm actually looking forward to harvesting the melon, too. I can't remember what kind this is."

ママ：「実はね、メロンの収穫も楽しみにしてるの。これ、なんていう種類だったか、思い出せないわ。」

Kona: "I don't think Kahlua is listening to you, mommy."

コナ：「カルアくん、ママの話を聞いてないと思うよ。」

Kahlua: "(bite)"

カルア：「（カプッ）」

Ehime: "Ahh! You got me!"

えひめ：「ああ！やられまちた〜！」

At night　夜

Kona: "Is daddy getting ready for the festival?"

コナ：「パパ、お祭りの準備をしているの？」

Ehime: "Festival!? Where is the festival??? (dash)"

えひめ：「お祭り！？お祭りは、どこでしゅか？？？（ダダダッ）」

Kona: "Behind you."

コナ：「ひめたんのうしろ。」

Kahlua: "Speaking of which, where is the food for the festival?"

カルア：「そう言えば、お祭り用の食べ物はどこだろう？」

Daddy: "Not here. Ask mommy."

パパ：「ここじゃないよ。ママに聞いて。」

Ehime: "Daddy, I want to help you to build something for the festival. Can I bring any wood for you?"

えひめ：「パパ、わたち、お祭り用にパパが作ってるもののお手伝いがちたい。木でも持ってきましゅか？」

Daddy: "Umm... Well..."

パパ：「う〜ん‥‥　えっと‥‥」

Kona: "Ehime is interrupting daddy."

コナ：「えひめが、パパの邪魔をしています。」

Ehime: "Daddyyyy."

えひめ：「パパ〜〜〜」

Daddy: "Umm...."

パパ：「えーっと‥‥」

Mommy: "Then, I'm going to make Grilled shrimp on Arugula salad for dinner tonight."

ママ：「じゃあママは、今夜の晩ごはん用に、アルグラサラダに乗せるグリルドシュリンプを作ろうかな。」

Ehime: "Daddy said it's done. He was building a chair. Not anything for the festival."

えひめ：「パパ、終わったって。パパが作ってたのは、イスでちた。お祭り用のものじゃなかった。」

Daddy: "I didn't even say a word about the festival."

パパ：「お祭りなんて、パパ、一言も言ってないぞ。」

Mommy: "I've got to hurry. Grilled shrimp is almost done."

ママ：「急がなきゃ。グリルドシュリンプ、もうすぐ出来上がるからね〜」

Kona: "Seafood smells so good, don't you think, Kahlua?"

コナ：「シーフードの香りって、本当にいいよね、カルアくん。」

Kahlua: "But, we shouldn't eat shrimp. They are not good for our health, I heard. By the way, why is it so smoky in the kitchen?"

カルア：「でも、ぼくたちがえびを食べるのはダメなんだよ。体に良くないんだって。ところで、このキッチン、なんでこんなに煙っぽいんだろう。」

(Pee, pee, pee, pee!)

（ピー、ピー、ピー、ピー！）

Suddenly, the smoke detector in the house went off! I was concentrating on grilling the shrimps and taking photos occasionally. I didn't notice the house was full of smoke from the grill pan. My husband and I opened windows in the kitchen, family room and living room to get the smoke out from the house. Sorry...

突然、家の煙探知機が鳴り響きました！えびのグリルに集中し、ときどき写真を撮ったりしていて、グリルパンからの煙が家に充満していることに気付かなかったんです。主人と私は、キッチンやファミリールーム、リビングルームの窓を開け、家の煙を出しました。ごめんなさい‥‥

Mommy: "Sorry for a surprise. Dinner is ready."

ママ：「驚かせてごめんね。晩ごはん、できたよ。」

Daddy: "I'm sure this dish has a nice smoky flavor."

パパ：「スモーキーフレーバーがよくきいた料理であることは、確かだな。」
