Growing the vegetables 〜お野菜を育てる〜

Yesterday　昨日

Mommy: "What a beautiful end of the day."

ママ：「素晴らしい一日の終わりね。」

Daddy: "Yes, it is."

パパ：「ホントだね〜」

Today　今日

Mommy: "Mmm? What are you doing here, Betsy?"

ママ：「ん？ベッツィちゃん、こんなところでなにしてるの？」

Betsy: "Mr. G is away. So I just stay here in the shade."

ベッツィ：「Gさんがいないの。だから、ここの陰にいさせてもらおうと思って。」

Chicken A: "Don't look. A dog is there."

にわとりA：「見ない、見ない。犬がいるから。」

Chicken B: "Scary. Let's stay in the coop."

にわとりB：「こわい、こわい。小屋の中にいましょう。」

We closed the chicken coop, and left Betsy outside and our dogs inside. Then we went out to do some errands. I found one magazine called "grow" at the store, and got it to learn tips to grow vegetables.

にわとり小屋を閉め、ベッツィちゃんを外に、うちの犬たちを家の中に残し、私たちは用事を済ませるために出かけました。お店で”grow"という名前の雑誌を見つけ、お野菜を育てるためのヒントを学ぶのに、その雑誌を購入しました。

Kona: "Are you growing more vegetables now?"

コナ：「今からまだお野菜を育てるの？」

Mommy: "Yes. In Central Coast, California, you can actually have a lot time to grow and harvest vegetables & fruits during a year, I heard. Look at these strawberries. I tried to grow strawberries in Seattle, but Haley (my dog who passed away three years ago) ate them all."

ママ：「うん。カリフォルニア州のセントラルコーストでは、一年でお野菜や果物を育てて収穫できる期間が長いんだって。見て、このいちご。ママね、シアトルでいちごを育てようとしたんだけど、全部ヘイリー（三年前に亡くなった愛犬）に食べられちゃったのよ。」

Kahlua: "Bow-wow! Bow-wow! Warning, warinig! Someone is outside!"

カルア：「ワンワン！ワンワン！警報、警報！誰かがお外にいる！」

Betsy: "It's me, again. I heard your garage door open, so I came back♪"

ベッツィ：「私よ。ガレージのドアが開くのが聞こえたから、また来ちゃった♪」

Ehime: "Did Betsy become a family member of us, too?"

えひめ：「ベッツィちゃんも、うちの子になったでしゅか？」

Mommy: "I don't think so."

ママ：「そうではないと思うけど。」

Kahlua: "Oh! I know this plant. I ate it in the backyard the other day."

カルア：「あっ！ぼく、この植物知ってる。これ、こないだ裏庭で食べたよ。」

Mommy: "I wish you didn't... But this plant is full of Omega 3. It's probably good for your health."

ママ：「食べてもらいたくなかったけど‥‥　でもこれ、オメガ３がいっぱいなんだって。きっとカルアくんの体にはいいわね。」

Kona: "Can you grow more tomatoes here in the fall?"

コナ：「この辺りでは、秋にもトマトが育つの？」

Mommy: "That's what I heard."

ママ：「そうらしいよ。」

Mommy: "These cucumber plants are growing up to the top. Our plants are going down because cucumbers are heavy."

ママ：「このきゅうりのツル、上に向かって伸びてるね〜　うちのはだんだん下がってきてるのよ、きゅうりの重さで。」

Ehime: "Sounds like you need to learn a lot from this magazine."

えひめ：「この雑誌から学ぶこと、たくしゃんありましゅね。」
