Ehime spent overnight in the emergency hospital. 〜救急病院で一晩過ごしたえひめ〜

Right after I wrote the blog yesterday, we realized Ehime was bleeding. We decided to close the tasting room and took her to the emergency hospital. 

昨日のブログを書いたあとすぐ、えひめが出血していることに気づきました。私たちはテイスティングルームを閉めて、救急病院へえひめを搬送しました。

Because of the environment with Covid-19, we were not allowed to go in the building with Ehime. We can't tell how much we were worried about her... Our past dogs never came back home after the emergency hospital. My husband said "Ehime is different from Kona. She will be able to come back home with us." But I was still very worried.

コロナ禍のため、えひめと一緒に病院の中に入ることは許されませんでした。どれだけえひめのことが心配だったか、言葉にすることができません‥‥　私たちの過去の犬たちで、救急病院に行ったあとに家に帰ってきた子はいません。主人は、「えひめはコナとはちがう。きっとぼくたちと一緒に、家に帰れるよ。」と言ってくれました。でも私は、とても心配でした。

この写真は、病院に入る直前に撮りました。あんな大変なコンディションでも、私を見てニコッとしてくれました。

The doctor decided to keep her in the hospital overnight. He gave some tests to figure out what caused her problem and what treatments she needs. When he called us, he said that he couldn't figure out what caused her vomiting & diarrhea, but her blood test came back all normal. So he said we should concentrate on helping her get better for now, instead of doing more tests on her weak body. We agreed with him.

お医者様は、一晩えひめを入院させることに決めました。何が原因なのか、えひめに必要な治療は何か、いろんな検査をして答えを見つけようとしてくれました。私たちに電話をして下さったととき、お医者様は、吐き気と下痢の原因が何かはわからなかったけれど、血液検査はすべて正常で戻ってきた、とおっしゃいました。そして、今はえひめの衰弱している体にさらに検査を重ねることよりも、えひめの元気を取り戻すことに集中するべきではないかとおっしゃってくださり、私たちは賛成しました。

This morning, the doctor called us again and said that Ehime did well last night! She was on IV all night long, but it looks like she is now recovering. They still want to keep her until 4:00pm today to see if she is strong enough to go back home. We just miss her so much. 

今朝、またお医者様が電話をくださり、えひめは昨夜がんばったよ！と言ってくれました。一晩中点滴を受けましたが、今は回復に向かっているようです。まだ今日の午後4時までは様子を見て、家に帰られるほど元気になっているか見てみるということでした。ただただ、えひめに会いたくてたまらないです。

Makana: "I'm eating breakfast alone."

マカナ：「ひとりぼっちの朝ごはん。」

Makana: "I need to keep my energy to play with my sister for the time when she comes back home."

マカナ：「ねえたんが帰ってきたときに遊べるように、ぼく、元気をキープしておかなくっちゃ。」

Mommy: "Well, I think she probably wants to relax & sleep when she gets back home."

ママ：「えっと、ひめたんが帰ってきたら、多分ゆっくりして眠りたいんじゃないかな。」
