Walking & socialising for doggies 〜犬たちのウォーキングと社会化勉強〜

I walked with Leo and Sophie and invited them over to our house on Sunday. It was the first meeting for our doggies to see Leo and Sophie. My husband cooperated with me to watch five dogs in our backyard. 

日曜日、レオくんとソフィちゃんと歩いた後、私たちの家に招待しました。うちの犬たちは、レオくんとソフィちゃんに会うのは初めてでした。主人が協力してくれて、一緒に５匹の犬たちの面倒を見ました。

Leo: "Thank you so much for having us in your yard, Kona's daddy."

レオ：「コナのパパさん、お庭にぼくたちを招待してくれてどうもありがとう。」

Daddy: "You are welcome. You have a great manner, Leo."

パパ：「どういたしまして。レオくんはマナーがいいね〜」

Sophie: "Kona's daddy? Can I lay down on the beach chair?"

ソフィ：「コナのパパさん？私、ビーチチェアで横になってもいいかしら？」

Leo: "Kona's daddy? Can I give you a deep chu chu?"

レオ：「コナのパパさんにぼく、ディープチュッチュをしてもいい？」

Kona: "No! That's my job!"

コナ：「ダメ！それ、ぼくの仕事だから！」

Ehime: "Ahh! Leo, watch your tail!"

えひめ：「うぐっ！レオくん、しっぽ、気をつけてくだしゃいよ！」

This morning　今朝

Kona: "Mommy, what are we doing today?"

コナ：「ママ、今日はなにして遊ぶ？」

Ehime: "Are Leo & Sophie coming over again?"

えひめ：「またレオくんとソフィちゃん、来るでしゅか？」

Mommy: "No. I'm making some cucumber pickles today."

ママ：「ううん。今日はね、ママ、きゅうりのピクルスを作ろうと思って。」

Kahlua: "Then, I'm going to take a nap."

カルア：「じゃあ、ぼく、お昼寝しようっと。」

Mommy: "We got this mix yesterday. It says "Bread & Butter Pickle Mix". Let's see what the taste is like."

ママ：「昨日このミックスを買ったの。”ブレッド＆バターピクルスのミックス”って書いてある。どんな味になるかな〜」

Mommy: "Now, let's put them in my favorite Mason jars♪"

ママ：「さあ、お気に入りのメイソンジャーに入れて、と♪」

Mommy: "Those are supposed to last for three weeks without canning. I can't wait to taste them tonight♪"

ママ：「缶詰保存しなくても、これで３週間は持つはず。今夜味見するのが楽しみだわ〜♪」

No doggies were interested in me making cucumber pickles (#^_^#). So I went to pick up Leo & Sohpie, and we did 'slow-walk practice' at the park this afternoon.

犬たちは、私がきゅうりのピクルスを作る事に、まったく興味を示しませんでした (#^_^#)。それで、私はレオくんとソフィちゃんのお迎えに行き、午後、公園で、スローウォークの練習をしました。

Leo: "Phew, slow walking actually makes me tired."

レオ：「ふう、スローウォークって、結構疲れるな。」

Mommy: "That's right. You need to work hard mentally. You used to run before, right? That creates moving-forward energy and you haven't gotten used to walking right next to the handler yet. But you are doing much better today."

ママ：「そうでしょ？精神的に頑張らないといけないからね。以前は走ってたんでしょ？走るのは前に行こうとするエネルギーになるから、リードを持つ人の横を歩くっていうことにまだ慣れてないのよ。でも、今日はずっと良くなったよ。」

Sophie: "I'm tired."

ソフィ：「私、疲れました〜」

After I took Leo & Sophie back home, I took my two Goldens for an afternoon walk.

レオくんとソフィちゃんを家に返してから、私はうちのゴールデンズ二匹を午後のお散歩に連れて行きました。

Mommy: "It might be a little hard to walk right next to me on a coupler leash, but please try, OK?"

ママ：「カップラーのリードで真横を歩くのはちょっと難しいかもしれないけれど、なんとかガンバってね。」

Ehime: "Mommy, it'll cost you if you are so demanding."

えひめ：「ママ、しょんなに注文が多いと、高くつきましゅよ。」

Mommy: "I'm fine. I have dry bananas in my bag."

ママ：「バッグに干しバナナが入ってるから大丈夫。」

Kona: "I require turkey biscuits."

コナ：「ぼくはターキービスケットを要求します。」

Everyone: "Mommy, snack, please♪"

みんな：「ママ〜、おやつ、お願いしま〜す♪」

Mommy: "You just had some!"

ママ：「今食べたじゃない！」

The sun brings happiness♪ 〜太陽が出ると幸せ♪〜

Unusually for Las Vegas, we had continuous raining for three days. I was feeling down and got sick yesterday. On Sunday, the sun was up when we got up in the morning. How delightful! 

ラスベガスには珍しく、三日間雨が降り続きました。気持ちが落ち込んで、昨日は体の調子が悪くなってしまいました。日曜日、朝起きると太陽が上がっていました。なんてうれしいことでしょう！

Kona: "Is that the pumpkin bread that mommy made?"

コナ：「それ、ママが作ったパンプキンブレッド？」

Daddy: "Yes, it is."

パパ：「そうだよ。」

Kona: "The little piece on your left hand seems a great size for my mouth, don't you think daddy?"

コナ：「パパが左手に持っているその部分、ぼくのお口にちょうどいいサイズだと思わない、パパ？」

Daddy: "This is a great size for my mouth."

パパ：「これはパパのお口にちょうどいいサイズなの。」

Kona: "Don't you love me any more?"

コナ：「パパ、もうぼくのこと、好きじゃないの？」

Daddy: "I love you so much. Don't worry. I'll ask your mommy to get salmon tonight♪"

パパ：「大好きだよ。大丈夫。今夜はサーモンにしてもらうよう、ママに頼んであげるから♪」

Kona: "I love you, daddy♥"

コナ：「パパ、大好き〜♥」

Daddy: "Me, too, Kona♥"

パパ：「パパもだよ〜♥」

Although feeling bad about bothering Kona and his daddy, I wanted to pick up our food from the freezer at Chloe's & Jack's house. So we got in the car and drove to the community that we used to live in.

コナとパパの邪魔をするのは申し訳なかったのですが、クロエちゃんとジャックくんの家の冷凍庫で預かってもらっている我が家の食べ物を取りに行きたかったので、みんなで車に乗り込み、以前住んでいたコミュニティーに向かいました。

Ehime: "Look! I see the snow there."

えひめ：「見てくだしゃい！雪が見えましゅよ。」

Mommy: "Oh, wow. The top of the mountain is white."

ママ：「わあ、ホント。山の上が白くなってるね〜」

Mommy: "How are you doing, darling?"

ママ：「パパ、調子はどう？」

Daddy: "I feel good. Walking in the sun is much better than in the rain."

パパ：「すごくいいよ。太陽が出てるときのお散歩は、雨のときよりずっといいね。」

Mommy: "What about you, Ehime?"

ママ：「ひめたんはどう？」

Ehime: "What? (big smile!)"

えひめ：「なんでしゅか？（ニコッ！）」

Mommy: "You look happy♪"

ママ：「うれしそうね〜♪」

Chloe's family was not at home this weekend. It looked like they covered up the swimming pool for the bad weather before they left. We didn't want to make a mess, so told the dogs "No swimming today."

クロエちゃんたち家族は、週末出かけていて家にいませんでした。悪天候を予想して、プールにはカバーがかぶせてありました。私たちは散らかしたくなかったので、犬たちに「今日はスイミングはなしね。」と言いました。

Kona: "Well, this is open."

コナ：「あの、ここが開いてるけど。」

Mommy: "This is the water for a hot tub."

ママ：「ここはホットタブ用のお水なの。」

Kona: "I wonder how deep it is."

コナ：「どれくらい深いのかな。」

Mommy: "What? Are you going in?"

ママ：「え？入るの？」

Mommy: "He's in."

ママ：「入っちゃった。」

Ehime: "Daddy, I want to go in, too."

えひめ：「パパ、わたちも入りたい。」

Daddy: "It's hard to say no to you."

パパ：「えひめにダメって言うのが難しい自分がいるな。」

Ehime: "Sorry for bothering you, brother Kona. I'm coming in."

えひめ：「おじゃまちてごめんなしゃいね、コナにい。」

Kona: "Are you really thinking so?"

コナ：「ホントにそう思ってる？」

Ehime: "Mommy, when can we get to see Jack's family?"

えひめ：「ママ、ジャックくんたちにいつ会えるでしゅか？」

Mommy: "On Thanksgiving day. It's been a long time since we saw them last time, hasn't it?"

ママ：「感謝祭の日よ。最後に会ってから、もうずいぶん時間がたったわね〜」

The leash to walk with multiple dogs 〜複数の犬と歩くためのリード〜

We bought a coupler leash for doggies. This is made from mountain climbing rope that is supposed to hold 3,600 pounds. Since I'm walking five dogs these days, I thought this might help me to walk two large dogs at the same time.

カップラーという犬用のリードを購入しました。これは山登り用のロープで、3600ポンドの重さ（1633キロ）を支えることができます。最近５匹の犬たちと歩いているので、このリードで同時に二匹の大型犬と一緒に歩けるといいな、と思っています。

Mommy: "Let's test this today. How to use is simple. It just needs to be connected to the normal leash we use."

ママ：「今日これを試してみよう。使い方は簡単。いつも使っているリードにくっつけるだけ。」

Mommy: "One is for you, Kona."

ママ：「ひとつはコナくんに。」

Kona: "OK."

コナ：「はい。」

Mommy: "The other one is for you, Kahlua."

ママ：「もうひとつはカルアくんに。」

Ehime: "I want a new necklace, too!"

えひめ：「わたちも新しいネックレスがほちい！」

Mommy: "Ahhh! Don't push me, Ehime!"

ママ：「あああ！ひめたん、押さないで！」

Mommy: "How is the leash, darling?"

ママ：「パパ、リードの調子はどう？」

Daddy: "I think it's good."

パパ：「いいと思うよ。」

Daddy: "Although, when one stops, the other one gets confused."

パパ：「ひとりが止まると、もうひとりがちょっと混乱しているみたいだけどね。」

Mommy: "Now, I'm going to walk with two Goldens."

ママ：「じゃあ、今度は私がゴールデンズふたりと歩いてみるね。」

Ehime: "What? Am I going to walk with my brother?"

えひめ：「えっ？わたち、にいたまと歩くでしゅか？」

Kona: "Don't be shy. You can say 'I love you, brother♥'."

コナ：「そんなに恥ずかしがらなくても、”にいたま、大好き♥”って言っていいんだよ。」

Ehime: "......"　えひめ：「‥‥」

After walking a little while, we switched the leash. My husband walked with Goldens and I walked with Kahlua.

しばらく歩いたあと、私たちはリードを交換しました。主人がゴールデンたちと歩き、私はカルアと歩きました。

Mommy: "I can't believe how easy to walk with you, Kahlua. You used to pull me a lot when you were young."

ママ：「カルアくんと歩くのがこんなに簡単だなんて信じられないな。カルアくんが若かった頃は、ママのことすごく引っ張ってたのに。」

Kahlua: "I changed."

カルア：「ぼく、変わったんだよ。」

Mommy: "Why don't we go back home now?"

ママ：「そろそろ帰る？」

Daddy: "That's a good idea. We are all so wet in the rain now."

パパ：「それがいいね。みんな雨ですごく濡れちゃったから。」

Ehime: "I need to go shi-shi."

えひめ：「わたち、おちっこ。」

Kona: "Again?"

コナ：「また？」

Ehime: "Are we getting in the car now?"

えひめ：「今度は車に乗るでしゅか？」

Daddy: "No. Let's go back home and dry with the towel."

パパ：「違うよ。おうちに帰ってタオルで体を乾かそうね。」
