Ehime: "Brother Kahlua? Is blueberry edible for doggies?"

えひめ：「カルアにい？ブルーベリーって、犬は食べてもいいでしゅか？」

Kahlua: "Yes, it is. If you don't eat too much, blueberry is good for you. Why do you ask?"

カルア：「うん、いいよ。たくさん食べ過ぎなければ、体にもいいし。なんでそんなこと聞くの？」

Ehime: "Mommy had unexpected free time yesterday. She used the time to make blueberry pie from scratch."

えひめ：「きのう、ママがね、突然自由な時間ができたからって、しょの時間を利用して、パイの皮からブルーベリーパイを作ったでしゅよ。」

Ehime: "I was there and waiting for her to give me some of the blueberry pie, but she didn't give me any."

えひめ：「わたち、しょこにいて、ママがブルーベリーパイをくれるの待っていたんでしゅけど、全然くれませんでちた。」

Kona: "Oh... blueberries... (imagining)"

コナ：「お〜、ブルーベリー‥‥（想像中）」

Kona: "Unfortunately, we don't get blueberry pie, Ehime."

コナ：「残念だけれど、ひめたん。ブルーベリーパイはもらえないよ。」

Ehime: "Why?"　えひめ：「どうちてでしゅか？」

Kahlua: "Because the dessert that humans eat has sugar in it."

カルア：「それはね、人間が食べるデザートには、お砂糖が入っているからなんだ。」

Ehime: "So... mommy made only the things humans can eat..."

えひめ：「ちゅまり‥‥　ママは人間が食べるものだけ作ったんでしゅね‥‥」

Mommy: "Hey, doggies! I made some dry bananas. Do you want to eat?"

ママ：「ねえ、みんな〜！干しバナナを作ってみたんだけれど、食べる？」

Everyone: "I do!"

みんな：「食べる〜！」

Ehime: "There is something we can eat. I'm happy now♪"

えひめ：「わたちたちが食べられるものもあったんでしゅね。よかった♪」

Love from the distance 〜離れていても愛〜

Ehime: "I missed mommy yesterday when she was away."

えひめ：「きのうママがいないとき、わたち、さびしかったでしゅよ。」

Kona: "I agree. I missed her, too."

コナ：「ぼくもさびしかったよ。」

Kona: "Mommy went out with her friends and ate vegetable soba noodles with them."

コナ：「ママ、お友達とお出かけして、山菜そばを食べたんだって。」

Kona: "I heard baby Kai was there, too."

コナ：「赤ちゃんのカイくんもいたんだって。」

Ehime: "Mommy didn't take us with her. I wonder if she doesn't care about us any more..."

えひめ：「ママ、わたちたちを連れていってくれなかったでしゅよ。もうわたちたちのこと、好きじゃないんでしゅかね‥‥」

Kahlua: "That's not true, Ehime. Mommy & daddy always care about us a lot."

カルア：「それは違うよ、ひめたん。パパとママは、いつだってぼくたちのことが大好きなんだ。」

Kahlua: "We are so lucky. Three of us are always together. And also, mommy & daddy are working at home, so we can be with them every day."

カルア：「ぼくたちはとってもラッキーなんだよ。三匹いつも一緒だし、パパとママはおうちでお仕事しているから、毎日一緒にいられるし。」

Kona: "That's true. The dogs whom we were fostering from Golden Retriever Rescue Southern Nevada last summer were saying that they don't have owners. Some of them had to be in the backyard when the weather is as hot as 110F, while others didn't have any home and walked around the street."

コナ：「そうだね。昨年の夏、ゴールデンレトリバーレスキューサザンネバダという団体からやってきた犬たちをぼくたちがお世話していたとき、みんな飼い主さんがいないって言ってた。外が43℃という暑さでも裏庭で過ごさなきゃいけなかった犬や、家がなくて道をずっと歩き回っていた犬もいたかな。」

Ehime: "Really? That's sad..."

えひめ：「ホントでしゅか？しょれ、悲ちいでしゅね‥‥」

Kahlua: "So, when mommy & daddy are not at home, we've got to show that we are OK and wait in a good manner. Then when they come back home, let's be happy and show our love."

カルア：「だからね、パパとママがおうちにいないときは、ぼくたちは大丈夫、ちゃんとお利口さんにして待っていられるよっていうところを見せなきゃいけないんだ。で、パパとママが帰ってきたときは、たくさんうれしがって、ぼくたちの愛情を見せてあげるといいよ。」

Kona: "Kahlua... you are an amazing big brother today."

コナ：「カルアくん‥‥　今日はなんか‥‥　すごくいいお兄ちゃんに見えるよ。」

Ehime: "I agree. I have so much respect on you now, brother Kahlua."

えひめ：「ホント。尊敬しましゅよ、カルアにい。」

Kahlua: "He he♪ I got a compliment from young ones. Being an oldie could be good some time."

カルア：「でへへ♪　若い者たちからほめられた。たまには年寄りっていうのもいいもんだね〜」

The exercise amount for Goldens 〜ゴールデンの運動量〜

Ehime: "A morning walk in cold weather is tiring... Do we really need to walk for an hour every morning?"

えひめ：「寒い日の朝のお散歩って、ちゅかれましゅよね‥‥　毎朝本当に１時間も歩かなきゃいけないんでしゅか？」

Kona: "Ehime, we, the Golden Retrievers need 1.5-2 hours exercise every day."

コナ：「ひめたん、ぼくたちゴールデンレトリバーは、毎日１時間半〜２時間の運動が必要なんだよ。」

Kahlua: "1.5-2 hours... I'm so happy I'm not a Golden Retriever..."

カルア：「１時間半〜２時間‥‥　ぼく、ゴールデンレトリバーじゃなくてよかった‥‥」

Kona: "We wake up in the morning...

コナ：「朝起きて、

and play a little bit.

ちょっと遊んで、

We all go for a morning walk for an hour...

みんなで１時間朝のお散歩をして

and take a nap.

で、ちょっとお昼寝。

We play again,

また遊んで、

then get on the treadmill. Twenty min for me and 40min for Ehime."

そしてトレッドミルで運動。ぼくは20分、ひめたんは40分。」

Ehime: "That's the part I don't understand. Why do I have to do more exercise than you do, brother Kona?"

えひめ：「しょれがわからないんでしゅよね。どうちてコナにいよりわたちがもっと運動をしなきゃいけないんでしゅか？」

Kona: "Because you have a lot of energy. What will happen after you do exercise?"

コナ：「ひめたんがとっても元気だからだよ。運動したあと、どうなる？」

Ehime: "Of course I get tired and fall asleep."

えひめ：「もちろんちゅかれて寝ましゅよ。」

Kona: "That's right! When you do a good amount of exercise, you eat well and sleep well. Because you don't have a lot of stress, you don't want to bark much. That makes a great relationship with humans."

コナ：「その通り！十分な運動をすると、よく食べてよく眠れるんだ。ストレスもないから、ムダ吠えもしない。だから人間と上手くやっていけるんだよ。」

Ehime: "I see what you mean. But... I wish mommy can give me a little more sweet potatoes and carrots for dinner. Then, I can do a little more work."

えひめ：「しょうだったんでしゅか。でも‥‥　ママが晩ごはんに、もうちょっとサツマイモとニンジンを入れてくれたらいいのにな〜　しょしたらもっと運動頑張るのに。」

Kona: "You already eat a lot."　コナ：「ひめたん、もうたくさん食べてるのに〜」

Mommy: "We have a surprise present for you today."

ママ：「今日は、ひめたんにサプライズのプレゼントがあるのよ。」

Ehime: "What is it?"　えひめ：「なんでしゅか？」

Ding Dong♪　ピンポーン♪

Penny Lane: "Hi, Ehime! It's your sister, Penny Lane."

ペニーレーン：「こんちは〜、えひめちゃん！姉妹のペニーレーンですよ〜」

Ehime: "Ahhh! Penny Lane! Long time no see you♪"

えひめ：「あああ！ペニーレーンちゃん！久しぶり〜♪」

Kona: "Glad to see you, Penny Lane. I'm Ehime's current brother, Kona. Nice to meet you♪"

コナ：「ペニーレーンちゃん、会えてうれしいよ。ぼく、えひめの今のお兄ちゃん、コナ。よろしくね〜♪」

Penny Lane: "Hi, Kona. Why is your coat brown?"

ペニーレーン：「コナさん、こんにちは。どうしてコートが茶色なんですか？」

Kona: "He he, I got a suntan♪ Just joking. I'm an American Golden."

コナ：「でへへ♪　日焼けで‥‥、というのは冗談で、ぼくはアメリカンゴールデンだから。」

Breeder Mommy: "How are you, Ehime? How have you been? Do you remember me? Happy 8 months old♪"

ブリーダーのママさん：「えひめちゃん、元気？あれからどうしてたの？私のこと覚えてる？８ヶ月のお誕生日、おめでとう♪」

Ehime: "Thank you. One question at a time, please."

えひめ：「ありがと。えっと、質問はひとつずつお願いしましゅよ。」

Breeder Mommy: "Ohhhh, Ehime. You are so beautiful♥"

ブリーダーのママさん：「おおお〜、えひめちゃん。ホントにかわいいわ〜♥」

Ehime: "You are holding me tight..."

えひめ：「うっ、息ができないでしゅよ‥‥」

Penny Lane: "And, your name is...???"　ペニーレーン：「で、あなたの名前は？」

Kahlua: "Kahlua. You should listen to the senior dog."　

カルア：「カルア。シニア犬の言うことは聞くもんだよ。」

Penny Lane: "Who decided the rule?"　ペニーレーン：「誰が決めたの？」 

Ehime: "I'm going to show you where the bathroom is, Penny Lane."

えひめ：「トイレの場所、教えてあげましゅよ、ペニーレーンちゃん。」

Penny Lane: "Thank you, Ehime. I was looking for it."

ペニーレーン：「ありがと、えひめちゃん。ちょうど探していたところだったの。」

Kahlua: "Daddy, I can't tell which one is which..."

カルア：「パパ、ぼく、どっちがどっちかわからないよ‥‥」

Daddy: "Me, too. Just look at the collar."

パパ：「パパも。首輪を見て判断して〜」

Ehime: "Penny Lane, you have longer legs than I do."

えひめ：「ペニーレーンちゃん、わたちより足が長いでしゅね。」

Penny Lane: "I want to be a model♪"

ペニーレーン：「モデル志望だから♪」

Ehime: "But... your back legs are going... an interesting direction."

えひめ：「でも‥‥　しょの後ろ足‥‥　なんでしょんな方向に行くでしゅか？」

Penny Lane: "Ask our birth daddy. I got this from him."

ペニーレーン：「生みのパパに聞いてくれる？これ、パパに似てしまったから。」

Kona: "Let me see. Hmmm, you can be a good sea lion in the future."

コナ：「どれどれ？う〜ん、将来はいいアシカになれそうだよ。」

Penny Lane: "I want to be a model."

ペニーレーン：「モデルになりたいんです。」

Ehime: "Can I give you a kiss?"

えひめ：「ママさん、チュッチュちてもいいでしゅか？」

Breeder Mommy: "Of course! Here, I give you mine, too♥"

ブリーダーママさん：「もちろんよ！ほら、私もチュッチュしてあげる♥」

Breeder Mommy: "Thanks for having us today. I brought a few puppy photos for the celebration."

ブリーダーさん：「今日は招待してくれて、ありがとう。お祝いに、パピーのときの写真を持ってきたの。」

Mommy: "Wow, everyone is soooooooo cute!!!"

ママ：「わぁ〜、みんなすっっっっっっごくかわいい！！！」

Breeder Mommy: "This is girls' photo. I wonder which one is Ehime."

After Breeder Mommy and Penny Lane are gone

ブリーダーのママさんとペニーレーンちゃんが帰ったあと 

Mommy: "Ehime, did you like your surprise present for your 8 month birthday?"

ママ：「8ヶ月のお祝いのサプライズプレゼントはどうだった、ひめたん？」

Ehime: "I liked it a lot! Let's do it tomorrow, too."

えひめ：「しゅごくよかった！明日もお願いしましゅね。」

Kona: "Dealing with two puppies is a big job..."

コナ：「パピー二匹のお世話は大変だよ‥‥」
