Kii chan's grave 〜キイちゃんのお墓〜

 

Serene: "What are tools you have in your hands?"

セリーン：「その手の道具、なに？」

Mommy: "Oh, these..."

ママ：「ああ、これ‥‥」

I burried Kii chan, the hen who was not feeling well, in the cow field today. I let her sit, eat and drink yesterday morning, and it turned out to be the last one. 

調子の良くなかったキイちゃんを、今日牛たちの野原に埋めました。昨日の朝、キイちゃんを座らせて、食べたり飲んだりしてもらいましたが、それが最後となりました。

My husband called me during my work yesterday afternoon, and let me know that he found her body in the coop. I was sad... This morning, I dug a hole with a hoe and a shovel and put Kii chan's body in. I also put the soil on and dead branches on top to prevent the wild animals from digging her out.

昨日の午後、私の仕事中に主人から電話があり、にわとり小屋でキイちゃんの遺体を見つけたことをを教えてくれました。悲しかったです‥‥ 今朝、くわとシャベルで穴を掘り、その中にキイちゃんを入れました。土を置き、さらにその上に、木の枝を置きました。野生動物が、キイちゃんの体を取り出すのを防ぐためです。

My arms, hands, lower back and legs are sore. The ground in summer was hard... But burying the hen is one way to show my appreciation and respect to the one who had been laying amazing eggs for many years. Now I miss Kii chan... 

 

腕、手、腰、そして足が痛みます。夏の地面は、固かった‥‥ でも埋葬することは、長年素晴らしい卵を産んでくれたにわとりへの、私の感謝の気持ちと敬意を表すひとつの方法です。今は、キイちゃんがいなくなっててさびしいです‥‥

Cali: "We are still here."

カリ：「私たちは、まだここにいるけど。」

Fuku: "Where is the treat?"

フク：「おやつ、どこ？」

Sachi: "The one who is alive needs to eat. I'm going to take one biscuit."

さち：「生きてる者は、食べなきゃいけないもんね。わたちは、ビスケットをひとつもらおうかな。」

Rest in peace, Kii chan.
